Cedar Point's new poster

Just like last year, Cedar Point is sending out big poster calendars to media outlets.  It's a photo of MF again this year, but it's taken from the south beach, with most of the lift hill and the entire first turn in the shot, under a stunning blue sky.

Thanks, CP.  This will be hanging above my desk all year, just like last year's did.

Hopefully I can snag a new one this year. I have last years hanging in my room right now.

How can one without connections to the point or not living in the area snag one of these?

Cheers,

Not sure, I bought mine from a friend who worked on Magnum this summer for 5 bucks.

LOL, nice sig Joey Isch. Anywho, CP mailed me 2 last year for some reason. So I have one hanging near my bed, and one still in the tube it came in. Hopefully I can get a 2k2 one.

Two ways I know of to get the poster without a connection are...

1. Ebay. Occasionally these pop up, but be weary, these posters can run $20+.

2. Employee Relations Office. They had a pile of MF posters every time I was there. Ask before you take a couple however.

Den, is this the same image used on the poster? http://www.cedarfair.com/Annual/annual2000/Frontreport.jpg

Yes, that is the photo, only where it says Cedar Fair, there's a 2002 calendar.

I have an extra I probably will put up on eBay soon, unless someone here wants to offer a few bucks for it.

Oops, sorry, my brother staked (stook?) his claim on it.  Sorry for getting your hopes up.

Yeah, this one is much better than the 2001 poster, no question about it. It's a shame that it's only good for one year!

Agreed Jeff. I didn't care much for that mostly shaded train shot. Quite honestly there wasn't much to look at. Plus the track in the background is blurred, which to my limited photography knowledge, isn't hard to prevent.

I liked last year's poster too, because I cut out word balloons from my Simpsons daily calendar and pasted them over the riders' heads.  One is saying, "Ay, no es buena!" like the bee guy; another is saying, "It's craptacular!"  Not that this reflects my opinion of the ride; it's just funny.

I wonder if next years will be of MF or Wicked Twister, probably depends on which will be more successful next year.
It is a pretty darn nice calendar... I do wish that Cedar Point would start selling a calendar again. The kind with a ride picture for each month. I bought one in '97 and the one month is a picture of Magnum covered in snow.

Have they started to send this out yet?

CP must send the calendars to vendors and contractors also.  I’m currently doing some contract work at a blue-printer in Cleveland, and they where sent one (even though they haven’t done any printing for CP in several years).  Since everyone knows I’m a big CP fan, they gave it to me.

Could I mail or e-mail CP and ask for one?  Would they send me one?  Who would I contact?  What would be the adress or e-mail adress?  How did some of you that live far away get one?  I really want one!!!

They're popping up on eBay already:

Ugh, ripping people off like that when anyone can easily get them for free...
From the description at the top, I thought it would be the same shot used on this year's Getaway Guide...and indeed it is.
