Cedar Point's Magnum

I have made a magnum recreation, that is close to realistic. This is only the second coaster I have made in No Limits since i purchased the game.

Please post any comments.

Maybe it's only my computer, but I don't think that link works...
Yea, it doesn't work for me either... :(

Sorry Guys, I have been on vacation. I fixed the link.... The trouble was that on my server the M in magnum was capitalized, and it shouldn’t have been.

I hope somebody reads this.

Here's my opinion:

Pros: It's more orange than mine, area from third hill and into the pretzal looks good too.

Cons: First two hills too short (speed too slow), bunny hops too big and I believe there should be one more, exit out of the station and prance over the midway are too low, no kicker wheels should be required.

I also chose to do Magnum as my first coaster.  It's not easy getting everything the way you want it.  The pretzal is very difficult and I'm still not sure if I like mine - it seems a bit too flat and not enough change in elevation.  Also, the track length is a bit short since my second/third hill/pretzal area is probably skimpy.  I spent lots of time getting the interval and blocking right and perfecting some of the little things.  Take a look at it tell me what you think.

Yes, its missing the last hop and it about 1000 feet short. I think your missing the length on the dogleg section, the 3rd hill is a bit longer. The pretzle is fine though

You can't blame people for length. I've done a few "real" tracks now with proper heights and such but the lengths come out wrong. I'm not convinced that's a flaw on the part of the designer.

I would agree with that, the few I've made look like the real thing yet always come up short. This one though is missing the long almost straight section of tunnel before the 3rd hill. The rest is very good though, especially the pretzel.

Matt's is about 600 feet short yet it looks pretty good.

I just wish you could do true Arrow mine trains.

Yea, that bothers me too Jeff.  Something about Magnum and OTSRs just doesn't mix - even on the computer screen.  I think most of my length is lost between the second hill and the pretzal.  The third hill should be more spread out and there should be more straight track after it.  Although, I'm almost positive that my pretzal is too big, so maybe what Jeff is saying about the length is true.

P.S. Joe - Good job on Millennium.  I commented on it a while back at CoasterGames.  Its wierd how it slows down so much at the end, but I think its almost perfect - especially the supports.  You probably have some of the best supports I've seen, right behind the guy who built the Eiffel Tower at CoasterSims! :)

MDOmnis- I reviewed your magnum creation and It is very good, it points out some areas that I can improve on. Good Job

Thanks Nash - there is still something I like better about your pretzel.  I guess its an ongoing process - its very hard to get anything perfect. :)
