Cedar Point's future
Cedar Point is known to add a new roller coaster every two years. What do you think will be the coasters for 2002 and 2004?

I would prefer wood, like CCI or GCI, and that is a possiblity. So is a TA2K. 2004, I honestly have no clue.

This topic has been exhausted both here and on thrill ride... After listening to all of the Rumors, these seem to be the most accepted...
1. There will be two new coasters in 2002
2. One will be a wooden, probably CCI
3. The other will be a steel of some sort

I wouldn't mind seeing a CCI and GCI put in at the same time. That would surely launch CP into the woodie world. I'd like to see an Arrow 4D too since the only other one is on the west coast.

I wouldn't be disappointed (or surprised) if CP turned to Intamin for their next couple of rides. They could have an Intamin inverted (I would doubt an Impulse though) and Intamin Looper-like the one in Brazil.

Cedar Point could build 12 new bathrooms for the 2002 season and still have 3.7 million guests hit the park. Yes they can.

go to thrillride.com I hope they get a hyper floorless coaster. Why would they take down Power Tower and the corkscrew for duelling shuttle loop coasters?
I'd like to see a woodie or a floorless coaster in the next couple of years, but an Arrow 4D would be cool.
2 Coasters? That's the first time I've heard that about CP. Most rumors for 2 are for PKI. It would be awesome if both parks added two in the same year.
It's great to be a coaster fan these days.

I don't know about a 4D. I mean, do you think CP would have been talking to Arrow over the last two years? If not, the first time they heard about a 4D was when SFMM broke the news. (Note: Do manufacturers approach the parks if they have a new idea?) If there's a 4D to be installed in 2002, according to the Cedar Point Rulebook, plans had to have been finalized sometime last year... and X wasn't announced until this winter.
One side of me wants to think they'd go for a woodie in 2002 to get a little more balance in their ride types, but, on the other hand, CP's probably jonesin' to break a record of some sort. That is to say, if they aren't all the time anyway. ;)
