I'll be the first to say that this makes me sad to hear. I've always been a fan of 1st gen intamin freefalls. Hopefully GL will keep theirs running.
^I thought it was for sale as well.

Bummer.
Well thats a big clue they just dropped,( no pun intended), as to where they will be placing thier next big coaster, and if its not a hint I dont know what is!

See? they ARE running out of space! ;)
Roars:

Yeah, the area where DD stands is enormous! It's for sure going to be the area of CP's next big coaster! I bet they could fit another Junior Gemini there! Better yet, dueling JG's!

That space may not be big enough for a big coaster, but the station for a parking lot coaster or maybe a giant flat ride is possible. What if they moved an existing ride or two there so they could build a coaster elsewhere in the park? What if they were planning on demoing the office buildings behind the games and maybe DT to creat a really large piece of open land for a huge project?

My point is that we couldn't possibly figure out what's going on just because we know that DD is being sold. For all we know, they could move Camp Snoopy in DD's place so they could build a new mega-resteruant across from Genimi.

I hate to see Demon Drop go as well. I like it better than Power Tower.

Did anyone see when a guy, presumably from Intamin, with a Demon Drop model appeared on David Letterman?

I always wanted that toy.

Dexter, would feel the same if Cedar Point also unloaded DT that would open up alot of room.

There's more room there than you think.

That would have been a great place to put maXair. I can easily see another high-profile flat ride going there.
Wish I had room in my yard for it. Those rides are classics and shouldn't go.
It saddens me to see such a classic ride at cedar point to go. I think this was the real classic that was let go and not geauga lakes. It has been there since the 80s and me and a friend of mine will deeply miss the Demon Drop.

I can see them using the land for ride relocations or something of that sort. They could also be putting in new rides there like a nice flat. But what kind what it be, they have some serious ones that most of the industry has. A screaming swing seems logical, but i just dont know what kinda capacity they would need. I heard a forty seater or something, but that would be huge. Also the top spin which has been missing wouldnt be a bad move ,considering it might up capacity.

I can also see that idea of a coaster. I really mean that the parking lot isnt suffering a loss of a couple hundred spaces, plus they have extra parking lots across the street from the main one and water park, back by maggie and gemini, so its not going to kill them.

What is Kinzel thinking here, still wil be interesting to see. I hope some of the money from Hyde's goes to buy Spehn a less multicolored tie.

Have you seen all of them or something? Do you do his laundry? Geesh.
Wow...that is sad...I like Demon Drop :(
I was wondering the same thing what if nobody buys Demon Drop? I just heard on the news about it that if there are no buyers CP will keep it

Anyone reading the linked article would know the same:

"If we can sell it, we will sell," he said. "If not, we will keep it."

Of course, this still doesn't solve the question of which coaster is Cedar Point selling?

They probably just leaked this Demon Drop info to distract people from the coaster they're selling.

That was probably exactly what they were looking at...only it isn't a coaster.
