Posted | Contributed by Jeff

Dig that membership card out of your wallet or purse, it's time to attend Cedar Point's annual enthusiast event, CoasterMania. This year's event includes exclusive ride time (ERT) on Raptor, Mantis and Blue Streak in the morning, while Magnum and Millennium Force get the attention at night.

Reps from Intamin will hold a Q&A about The Force. Check Guide to The Point's news section for complete details.

No big surprises here. I'm glad to see they're taking into account the early close that day in favor of extra ERT at kind-of-night.

Goliath please stop with pur in every news forum your top five coasters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dang it, looks like I'll be missing yet ANOTHER CoasterMania! I'll be in Branson, MO at Silver Dollar City on May 31 until 7:30pm. I don't think I'll like that 12 hour drive to CP much...Arg, and this was the year I REALLY wanted to go, esp with MF ERT at night!

I think I'm going to cry now. :)

I missed it last year on purpose (went to BGW, PKD and SFA that weekend). From what some people tell me about the MF ERT, it wasn't very "E." I get the sneaking suspicion that this year might not be much better, especially with a good speaker, but who knows.

Look at it this way, all the Magnum you can handle at night.

I'll pass on this one. Webmaestro Jeff is right. It was more like EWT - Extended Wait Time. Although it was kind of cool being on Magnum after midnight.

WARNING: May be habit forming
Do people really stay around all day for the night ERT? I figured MF's was busy as hell because of it being in the morning. Also, I just realized it's TWO POINT FIVE HOURS of ERT on MF! I don't think I can pass this up, so I may just drive from Silver Dollar City to CP that night...Do you HAVE to be there in the morning for registration or can you come later at say, 5pm? Thanks for the help.

Joe, you're not gong to Spring Con with ERT at SDC?

Anywho, in years past, you had to be there early to get your meal ticket and badge. However, if you're only going to attend at night and if you're a season pass holder, you can probably get someone to hold a badge for you. I'd check with the park first before changing any plans.

And stop quoting the Simpsons. :)

CP in 2002, get to the point
Nope, not going to Spring Con, I should be going to SFO opening night, May 5 and then CP opening day (I need my MF, ok? :))

I guess I'll call the park and see what they say. I really hope it's not that crowded, as it wouldn't be worth the extra 12hrs of driving just for four or five rides on MF. I'd need about ten to fifteen.

I'm glad you got the Simpsons quote! It was on last night, and I couldn't stop laughing at that line...wow.
