Cedar Points Closest Airport

I'm going to a wedding in July, so I thought I'd sneak into Cedar Point the day before.. Anyone know which airport is closest? The wedding is in Akron as well, anyone know how far away that might be from Sandusky?

Thanks,
Mark

The Akron/Canton Airport is in North Canton (actually Green). It is probably the smallest commercial airport around. It would be worth flying in there and then driving to The Point and back. You are looking at aboot a 1 hour 45 minute drive (maybe 1.5 if you are fast). It is definataly worth it. Also aboot 5 minutes south of A/C AP is a gigantic shopping area. (I know all of this because I live 10 minutes from the airport). If there is anything else you would like to know aboot the area just let me know.

TPC: you dont say where you are flying from but even without that info, I am almost certain that it would be cheaper for you to fly into Cleveland (CLE) than into the smaller akron airport. The only question becomes is the fare savings enought to compensate for a longer driving trip. That, I dont know.

"Riding High"

I'm flying in from Tampa Internatinal.. preferably Delta.
Fly into Akron-Canton....It's not crowded, and you can get into and out of there VERY fast, very convenient, and they have all the conveniences of an international airport. Not only that but you say you are flying Delta??? Comair is owned by Delta, it's their regional carrier, and their ENTIRE fleet is brand new jets that service Akron/Canton Airport. Not only that, but it's closer to akron than hopkins, so you can drop your stuff off on the way up to CP. It's much less of a hassle than Hopkins, and it's in a VERY nice area, complete with hundreds of restaurants, and a lot of shopping, even though you probably won't care about that. I highly recommend it. My family always pushes for Akron/Canton Airport instead of Hopkins, we've had bad experiences there before. The airport code is CAK if you want to check it out on the internet. If you want to fly Delta, it'll actually probably be cheaper to go to CAK than to Hopkins, seeing as Hopkins is a big Continental hub. *** This post was edited by Clarkbar on 5/28/2001. ***
