I really love the so-called "death seat" (back right) on Raptor. First of all, you feel like your're going to be flung out onto the midway on the first drop (you really feel like you're over top of the midway and away from the ride track), and then you just get whipped through all the elements. Unlike 2Hostyl, I really love the Cobra Roll on Raptor because it's executed really tight and fast, compared to cobra rolls on some other B&M's, namely Batman: Knight Flight, which just seem to take forever. I was having some doubts last year, but the way Raptor is running this year proved to me that it is my favorite looping coaster. If B:TR had a helix at the end, it would take it, but for now, Raptor still rules the sky!

And why was I so stupid not to buy the Joe Cool bonus for my season pass this year? I guess I'm cheap, and now I'm missing out. There's always next year.

Coasters...the best natural buzz available.
I think raptor is preety bumpy in the back. Especially in the cobra Roll. I think it was excellent in the front though.

Question:

1) Anybody planning to go go next Thursday?

2) Has it been in the 90's and humid consistently?

Oh yah! Almost forgot! Thanks Lynch! ;)

Well, humid or not, I'm sure it won't disappoint.
I only have one ride on Raptor, and I have about 35 on Montu, so it may be hard for me to make a good comparison. My one ride on Raptor was second row right (I always start toward the front on inverts, but I was too stretched for time trying to get all the coasters in to wait for the front seat). I had fun, but I was let down in the intensity department. It just seemed to roll around between elements and not do much.

I have ridden Montu pre-braked and post-braked, and I was simply blown away by both. Although the brakes took off some intensity from the end, I found that there were still ample forces through the last two elements. I liked Raptor's first drop better, but that was the only part I liked better. The theming of Montu, the trenches, the immelman, and the incredible batwing all made for an unforgettable ride. I found it to be an extremely different ride in the front and the back. The front is full of eye candy and feels like you just soar. The back, especially late in the ride with minimal braking, compressed me into a pancake with positive G's galore. Very cool and very intense indeed. Definitely one of my favs, and that's saying a lot coming from an airtime whore.

I've yet to find a beemer I didn't like, but I guess there are some which I prefer. It's good to have variety, though, and despite my nit-picking, I'd still take Raptor in my backyard.

According to the "official" count, next year's new coaster lineup will feature 17 Arrow 4-Ds, 21 TA2Ks, 34 B&M floorless's, 17 Intamin Gigas, 12 beemer flyers, and 247 CCIs. And oh yeah, CP will receive one of all of these.
