Cedar Point vs. Six Flags Magic Mountain

I was just wondering everyones opinion on which park is better?
They are so far away, I don't believe there is any competition.

I'm here in Ohio. I don't think I'll be wandering into CA anytime soon. I think I'll take the "Best Park On The Planet" (anyone else see the new CP commercial?)

I don't need drugs to get high, I need coasters!"
how could u say there is no competition? the competition is between the best parks in the world. i could see how it wouldnt effect some people from going to the parks but their is definately a competition. i feel after x is ready sfmm will definately have better rides but isnt close to being a better park. they need added theming and to take better care of their rides. and why do they keep building more coasters when they desperately need that money to rehab rides like cyclone and collosus. if i owned sfmm i would from now on get a coaster every 2-4 years and work more on making the place a resort like cp is and add theming like ioa and rebuild their woodies(same goes for cp.)

Some people dont read the FAQ.
OOOHHH! I wanted in before this thread gets closed.
Having taken many trips to both, here's an honest comparison:

Cedar Point: pros
-Fantastic coastering in anyone's opinion
-Its surrounded by a lake, good view from up high
-Very clean, capacity second to none
-Lots of places to rest, things seem together in the park.
-Lots of family things to do
-Great operations
-Really quite the memorable experience every visit

CP: cons
-Other than Disney, the undisputed KING of long lines and crowds
-Pretty much no theming efforts, other than the minimal Disaster Transport.
-The woodies are far from enjoyable.
-Visitors expecting too much, stemmed from overflowing attention and publicity
-A couple of coasters are painful

SFMM: pros
-Easily one of the more beautiful settings ive seen theme parks
-In my opinion, all of the coasters are enjoyable, especially when they're open
-The BEST views from up high
-Park circulates very well, easy to go were the majority isnt!
-Did I mention the beautiful terrain that the coasters take advantage of?
-Lines rarely exceed 1½ hours
-Bad reputation (?!?) makes for a wonderful surprise
-Queue lines are very bearable, with good music (my opinion again) and above-par theming. Lot's of darkness and colored lighting!

SFMM: cons
-some coasters are tamed from original ferocity, and have that feel of "that could've been fantastic!"
-Food services is pretty lowly, need a beefier staff in this feild.
-Woodies can be moody
-Flashback rarely runs, and you cant ride single! (grr...)
-Teens can be dumb, as the always are (not nearly as bad as SFGAdv was in April)

All opinions of mine, but I figure they're fairly general and can give you a good idea why certain people like either park more or less. For my vote, I like Knott's Berry Farm best!!
What are you guys talking about? It's not really a silly question if you're a grown-up and travel a lot. Planes fly all over the place, you know. And perhaps the question was phrased incorrectly, but it's still a legitimate question: "What park would you rather spend the day at?" I for one DO NOT live in Ohio (although I am from near there), but I have traveled the world. It's not about what is "better", but rather, what does one "prefer". There is a difference. One is objective (which is impossible, because of the variables) and one which is subjective (your opinion -- which is valid -- if you can have one based on your experience with both parks). OKAY. Enough preaching.

Good for you, MF -- you were posted before I started getting on my soap box.
My opinion would probably be considered biased because I've only ever been to Cedar Point and Disney, but I think Cedar Point is great, and Disney is alright, but they don't have a big ride selection, nor many giant coasters. It's basically a walk around and see things park.

I did it like this, I did it like that, I didn it with a wiffle ball bat.. ohhh
