Cedar Point trip

I'm planning a trip to Cedar Point this June. I'll be flying into Cleveland and unable to rent a car. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting to Sandusky? I also need information on where to stay. Do the Cedar Point resorts allow people under 21 to stay alone? Is there any shuttle service to the park from local area hotels? Any information is much appreciated!!
Sounds like you might be in a bit of a bind. First off, Cleveland airport is about an hour drive to Cedar Point. Car rental is inevitable, or you'll be paying one heck of a cab fare. Secondly, CP resorts do not permit anyone under 21 to register. I'm not sure about shuttle service from the Sandusky area hotels, but I think there are answers over at www.guidetothepoint.com

Hey Neil? Is train service available from Cleveland to around Sandusky? That would be much cheaper. Possibly Greyhound bus service?

I went to CP in June 2000. It was the best ever. My last ride on Millennium Force at night was in the FRONT SEAt. It was so FREAKY AWESOME. HEy, my contacts stayed in!!!!

Greyhound does have a bus station in Sandusky. Round trip between Cleveland and Sandusky should be around $30. I think you can get tickets even cheaper if you buy them online at www.greyhound.com. Once in sandusky, there are several inexpensive taxi services. As for a hotel...try the Green Tree Inn in Sandusky. I think you only have to be 18 there.

Hope this helps!

If you're coming to Cleveland, just rent a car for the day, it will be the least expensive. Could be around $25 if you shop around.

Anyone under 25 typically will find it hard to rent a car. About the only car rental company that allows anyone under 25 to rent is Enterprise. And they will cost about $35 a day for a compact car.

Well since it seems that Gilly is not quite 21, it will be damn near *impossible* to rent a car. I think the greyhound option would be the best thing. If the greentree says anything about the under 21 thing, you could stay in the POS Hojo right across the street from the GreenTree (they dont say anything about anything. But no matter what, you have to be 18 with a credit card.

p.s. when I went to cleveland last yr (24 yrs old) I rented a car from Alamo
