Cedar Point Trip

Hi, I'll be taking my first trip up to Cedar Point in mid-August on a weekday and I was wondering if I could get on:

Gemini, Millie, both Power Towers, Maggie, Disaster Transport, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Raptor, Mantis, Blue Streak, Mean Streak, Corkscrew, Iron Dragon and Wicked Twister in one day? Should I just try to stay 2? What would you prefer?

I'm pretty sure you could hit all of those in one day if you budget your time right. It can get pretty busy there in August, even on some weekdays. Personaly I would go for two, then you could enjoy more of the park and some of the smaller flat rides and shows CP has to offer. Also that meens you can get more than one ride on the big coasters like MF, Magum, Raptor, Mantis and WT. Either way you should be able to hit all of those rides.

I suggest two days at CP, especially for a first time trip. There's so much more to the park than just the coasters. If you stay 2 days, you will be able to enjoy the park and all it has to offer at a much more leisurely pace. If you stay only 1 day, I'm sure you'll feel rushed. That way you can experience the coasters -- which are incredible -- plus everything else that makes CP so great!!!
You should be able to get at least one ride on each of the rides that you mentioned. Don't forget Chaos, if you like spinny rides. I love this one. It's even better if you and your partner rock the car and get it spinning. One day should get you on all the rides, but two days is always better. Good luck, and have fun. Don't forget to give us a TR when you get home.

I will my heart was broken when I confronted my grandfather with the problem and he said we can only say one :(

I've visited Cedar Point many times and never had a problem hitting all the coasters in one day regardless of time of year (we always visit on a weekday though, weekends may differ).

I'd say you'll be able to hit all of those at least once. This year we did all the coasters except Jr. Gemini (with multiple rides on Raptor (2), Wicked Twister (2), Magnum (2) and Millennium Force (3) ) - in addition to a handful of flat rides and an hour break in our room at Breakers. All of that on the 10pm closing time - you'll have until 11pm in August, but I'd expect crowds to be a bit larger than we saw the last week of June.

Totally reasonable in my opinion.

One of CPs goals is to let you do all of the coasters in one day. I'm sure that you'll be able to with some time to spend doing other things as well. Just get there at 9:30AM and stay until they close and it should be no biggie.

Goto CoasterBuzz's sister site Guide To The Point and click on Features for a bunch of info on food, rainy-day situation, and hitting all 15 in one day. Also check out the forums, which are plenty helpful.

Not to be the bearer of bad news but it will be a miracle if you get on all those rides in one day. My advice, get all the can't miss rides like Millennium Force, Magnum, Raptor, Mantis, Mean Streak, Wicked Twister and Power Tower done first.

Then make a decision whether to ride things like Iron Dragon and Gemini or re-ride things like Raptor and Millennium Force. I would rather re-ride Millennium Force than ride Iron Dragon.

Yea, I think we are gunna stay at Breaker's so use the early time to get in at about 9:30 ride Mille twice and Wicked Twister, I really want to ride Disaster Transport though its only I want to ride a bobsled for once.

Teenage Ninja, make sure you have the right starting time for ERT. I believe the GP gets in at 9:30 (or at least they did when I was there). We got in at 9:00 and unless you are among the first in, the ERT isn't so exclusive. I know Millennium Force had around a 30-45min wait by 9:15. Keep in mind that Wicked Twister may be closed for ERT (as it was during my visit).

Just try to get a freeway stamp for Millennium Force in order to keep the wait at a minimium (they should start going at 11 and will prob. run out quick). If you can get a quick ride in the morning, a freeway ride, and one right before closing you won't waste much time in this line while the park is still open.

I am confident you can get everything done in one day in August. My first trip we were able to hit almost everything in one day (it was in August and we showed up a little after 1). Anyway just have fun.

Well I found out something it will be a Monday either at the end or the second to last weeks. How are Mondays, I can afford to miss a couple of ride, but I need the big coasters and Power Tower. I ain't worried about the flippy rides as my grandpa hates spinning rides.
