Cedar Point Treeless...... NOT!!!

Let's not forget that Cedar Point was named for the amount of Cedar trees on the pennninsula. Quite fitting.

MagnumForce,

I didn't say in the middle. In fact, I didn't say any peticular location on the main midway. I just think there could be a few more trees, here and there. It doesn't matter where.

Not to get off the subject, but I think the structure of Gemini should be painted white to go along with the recent paint job on the station. But that's just my opinion. I think the new neon green structure with purple painted track on Wildcat is going to look nice. -Gives the ride a more modern look.

The midway in the late 1960's was almost as bare as it is today, so it's not like they removed a ton of trees. In fact, many of the tress on the main midway are much larger now. http://www.webtechnik.com/ebony/mainmid2.htm

Same with the trees surrounding the Fun Times Theatre (formerly the IMAX).

Admittedly, CP has removed trees for rides, but has also replaced them. I believe some trees were lost due to the tornado that hit in the 70's that damaged the Cedar Creek Mine Ride.

Cedar Fair pays the most attention to rides. They almost completly disregard themed areas and they don't put great effort into stunning landscaping. The people who go to those parks want rides, so thats what they get.

It's hard to see some of the best landscaping at CP unless you are on the Sky Ride. The flowerbeds along the midway in particular. They always have "themes" to them, but you can't see them unless you are above.

There are some wonderful plantings along the Gemini midway as well.

I know the park is no Bush Gardens, and maybe it's my love for flowers and landscaping that allows me to see what CP does. It's there if you pay attention.

The exception being Knott's. They generally do a good job with theming and landscaping at that park. But other than that, I agree. Most Cedar Fair parks are amusement parks, not theme parks.

Cedar Point wants to stick to the traditional amusement park look. The only themed area is Fronteer Trail/Town. Back when they had Jungle Larry's Safari, I kind of thought that it was Cedar Point's version of (from Disneyland) Adventureland.
