Some announcement! We announce...we are removing a ride! I wonder if they will add something this season or leave that space open all of next year?

They will at least add a swing this season.

It is still a sad day in that I believe we're seeing the end of an era at the Point. It will really depend on what is taking its place. Will it be a thrill ride? Will it be a coaster? Will it be another water ride? Will it be a show? An ampitheatre?

We can only wait to find out...

OMG, what a weak announcement. Oh yeah, we are getting rid of ride for expansion. What's coming? We can't say!

I'll skip the ride on White Water Landing, but I do think it's nice that they are doing something special for those who brave the cold to ride WWL on its last day.

What a shame granted the ride was never that spectacular but I always loved it, and the location was perfect perfectly hidden in all the tree's in that area of the park.

They haven't said what they are replacing it with, I am still hoping it will be a modern flume ride in the style of Dudley.

I agree...I love the area. And the trees have grown to be quite huge! I remember them being so much smaller when the ride was built. I'm sure that next year the area will be barren (unfortunately). Hopefully they'll save some trees!

Yeah, Remove what little charm the park has left.

It feels odd to me for a major park like Cedar Point not to have *any* flume ride. Heck, there used to be two of them. They're good family rides and actually the only ride with any sort of a "drop" that my mother would go on!

I wonder if they are going to replace it with a more elaborate version. I hope they save the trees. It's one of the few "wooded" rides they have left. I'm not holding my breath on that one ;)

Lol, a rickety flume ride was the only charm in left the park.

The flume is the least of my worries although the ride had good capasity and was a good flume.

My first visit to CP in 1986 was to a park that had atmosphere as well as some great coasters. Since then most of that charm is gone and whats left is a concrete slab with a bunch of mediocre coasters in their place.

I don't say you don't have to like it just because I don't. However if I want a parking lot carnival, I have one down the street.

Who was it that said I was full of crap about the removal of WWL? I'd like to insert an "I told you so" now.
