Cedar Point-SFWOA Senior Trip

Most seniors at my high school in Pittsburgh are going to Ocean City the week following graduation. I am going to Europe in July and don't want to spend the money for a week in Ocean City when there aren't that many good coasters anyway. So a friend of mine who has never been to CP before suggested we hit CP on Tues June 18 and hit SFWOA on Wed June 19 on our way back home. I have a few questions.

1) I know how to get to CP from Pittsburgh and to SFWOA from Pittsburgh but how do I go from CP to SFWOA? I think there might be a better way than just taking the Ohio Turnpike back.

2) I am looking for a cheap hotel room($40-$55) for the night in between. Where is a good place to stay? Is it better to get out of Sandusky and maybe try get something closer to Cleveland?

3) For admissions I have the $10 off coupon from the Getaway Guide which gets the admission to $32. Can I get it lower than that?

4) For SFWOA season pass holders: I have a Six Flags pass that my mom bought from Giant Eagle and he doesn't. When I get my picture taken that morning do I get any coupons that he can use for admission?

Whenever I have questions it seems that someone on here is able to help out so thank you in advance.

1) Your best bet would probably be to take the turnpike and the I-480 East. I'm not really sure if there are any other ways, but this seems to be the quickest and best.

2) $40-$55 really isn't going to get you anything. I would reccomend staying in Sandusky, that way you don't have to worry about driving back to Cleveland that night. I would reccomend either Best Western, Microhotel, or Holiday Inn. They are around $75-$100 but much better than anything you'll find for $40-$55.

3) If you are a AAA member, try to get a ticket from there. If not, $32 is probably the best you are going to do.

4) You do get coupons with a season pass, however I'm not sure if they give it to you there or if they mail it to you.

Hope this helps!

The give you the coupons with your pass, but I'm not sure if any of the coupons will help you.

Pepsi cans got $13 off weekday admission in May, not sure about June.

'Ello,

Good choice of what parks to come too :) Yes it is the fastest and shortest route to take the turnpike to 480 or the other way around between the both parks. If you want DETAILED instructions, just let me know. The trip should take you 1 hour on average to go between parks...sometimes with heavy traffic 1 1/2 hours.

As for where to stay for that price. Microtel is your best bet towards Aurora or A Holiday Inn Express. The cheapest right now around the Sandusky area at least average prices are $60 on the cheap end (Comfort Inn and Red Roof Inn seem to be the cheapest). I have quite a few numbers and stuff for both parks of all prices if you want some more help, just e-mail me at RollerCoasterGod@aol.com.

As for ticket prices I think AAA only get's 10 off also. Go to TOPS friendly makets (they are everywhere around here in Ohio (mostly Northern Ohio, I should say). They do have a, I think, $30 WEEKDAY ticket and a $32 Anyday (including weekends) ticket. They just started that this year.
As for getting your SFWoA pass you have two options

A) Go with the regular pass. You will get a TEAL coupon book. It has bring up to 4 friends for 1/2 off coupons (which you can get CHEAP SFWoA tickets for also about $21 at A LOT of places up here). The coupon book is quite good though.

B) You can UPGRADE your pass for $30 and get a coupon in the GOLD book for bring a friend free ANY Day (before Mid July). Plus you can get 15% off ANYTHING ANY time in the park with the upgrade. So if you do the math sure it's $30 bucks more but
Bring friend free= $40 or cheap $20
6 different FREE game plays= $20
Plus 15% off everything you eat and buy= $$$$$$

So it really comes down to your call. But I can tell you IMO the adventure pass is a steel. If you plan on spending some money at the park. Either way both passes are good and both books are good.

Okay, I have directions from CP to SFWOA by a guy named Craig who e-mailed me directions. I also printed very similar ones off mapquest.

2-I found a Econo Lodge in Elyria which is halfway between the two parks. The rate I got is $47 I think.

3-If anyone could get some more info about the pepsi cans that would be helpful, if not we can just buy our tix for 32 using the coupons from the getaway guide.

4-I think I will go with the adventure pass upgrade on the season pass. I just wanted to make sure that I could use that bring someone free coupon on that day. Does the 15% off work for food and souveniers all season, all over the parks?

You get $10 off with Pepsi cans in June, but they are only valid Sun-Friday. Try Tops in Cleveland if you can, or AAA. Or just use the Pepsi cans at the park, but I would recommend getting your tickets before you get there though.
