I knew going in that the park wouldnt have alot going on, but this was my only chance to go this year.

I stopped on the way to get a different view I've never had, from Downtown Sandusky.

Coasters that were open in the park were: Raptor, Blue Streak, Wildcat, Iron Dragon, Wicked Twister Mantis, MF, and Magnum. All were decent rides except for Magnum. ugh! Never had such a rough ride as I had on this one. I would even compare it to the nightmare ride I had on Desperado at Wild Bill's near Vegas. Horrible! No re-rides for this one!!! TTD was closed, first time not operating when I've gone. http://www.flickr.com/photos/chicagocoastercub/239328911/

Mantis was not to be open, but they opened it up in lieu of TTD being closed.

The multiple rides went to Raptor <1> and MF <5!>. MF was running great and the queues were running fast. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARXLz3szDfU 3 trains running and the longest wait was around 20 mins. Ride ops were having fun with their schpiels. Only complaint I could see was one of the ops checking the restraints. In the back row, I saw an employee that wasnt working getting set in his seat. He kept the lap bar about 3" off his lap, and the op never checked it! Didnt seem to be a good example to me, not to mention the safety issue.

Of course I had to check out Maverick. I was surprised at what little space this baby was going to take. I'm guess that there will be some tight turns on this one.

All in all, an enjoyable 5 hours in my favorite park. I dont think this would have been a good night for someone here just for one day. For a re-visitor like me, was good. Also a good preview for those staying the rest of the weekend.

Hey I loved Desperado! ;) Nice TR, glad you had a good time. We'll be there this Friday hopefully for a mini MF marathon. Did you notice any work going on at TTD?

I love the picture of Maverick's first hill.

All I could see was what was in the picture I included. There was a crane over the launch area. When riding Draggin' Iron..........errrr Iron Dragon, I got a quick glance, but it didnt look like there were any trains on the track at all. But I didnt bother to really investigate since I wasnt going to get any rides anyhow.
