Cedar Point Ride & Slide Again Question...

DawgByte II's avatar

Ok, I don't want any sarcasm or correction on what's right or not right...

I just had a lousy camping trip to Cedar Point because my one friend bummed out after TWO HOURS at the park, claiming to get bored & would rather go fishing...

Anyway, to make a long story very short, I am stuck here now with the slide-pass and then 2nd-day Ride & 2nd-day Slide pass. I got the tickets on the day of the planned 2-days at the park. However, now that I'm stuck with it, I do not want them to goto waste & feel like I've just flushed nearly 60 bucks down the drain (I did manage to get some use out of MY one day at the park)

The question: Will the passes for the slide & 2nd-day ride and/or slide work on a different date? It's not a matter of "right/wrong"... it's a matter of, WILL it work? I'd like to come back later in the season like late July with another friend and use the passes I'm stuck with...
...so will the scanner read it just as another pass, or will the red light come on & alarms sound if they try scanning the ride-pass that knows I didn't use it on the same date?

I guess this could also be factored into if someone stayed at The Point for 3 days, and bought a 2-day pass knowing that they'd take the better of the two days & use the other day as a "rain-day" for other stuff in the area.

Is it possible & will it work?

Yes.

"A Ride & Slide ticket will admit one guest to both Cedar Point and Soak City for any two regular season days. Please note: Soak City closes for the season on Labor Day, Sept. 4, 2006. After Labor Day, the Ride & Slide Cedar Point tickets are valid on Saturdays and Sundays of Bonus Weekends (Sept. 9,10,16 & 17), and HalloWeekends (Sept. 23, 24, 30, Oct. 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 & 29)."

--You will receive a total of four tickets (one "Day One" Cedar Point ticket, one "Day One" Soak City ticket, one "Day Two" Cedar Point ticket, one "Day Two" Soak City ticket).

--Both "Day One" tickets must be used on the same day, and both "Day Two" tickets must be used on the same day. A surcharge ($20 Cedar Point, $10 Soak City) will be applied per ticket if used any other day.

--Day One and Day Two tickets do not have to be used on consecutive days.

--Cedar Point Day One and Day Two tickets cannot be used on the same day. Soak City Day One and Day Two tickets cannot be used on the same day.

--Cedar Point tickets are only valid at Cedar Point. Soak City tickets are only valid at Soak City.

The 'slide' portion of your already used 'ride' ticket is no good anymore, but the other 'ride' and 'slide' can be used anytime in 2006 (on the same day as each other, of course).

Edit: ^ What he said. Latency's a *****.

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!
The 1st day slide portion IS good, if you pay the $10 Soak City surcharge.

Well, usually they say on the back of the ticket (I didn't just read it, but I thought I remember reading it) "to be used on consecutive days only"...

...I mean, will the scanner actually go off with a red alarm, or would it actually prove valid if I tried it?

It sounds like you think you're cheating the system. Don't worry. Not only can you do it, but it's perfectly OK with the park if you do. There is no consecutive day rule.

Read what Scottt said above, or you can go right to the park's web site and read it there, if that makes you more comfortable.

Perfectly fine. We have combo passes, and when we host friends at the park, we always use ride-and-slides---they are affordable, and if we decide to pop into the waterpark for an hour or two, we can. Plus, then we have to host two different sets of friends to get use of the tickets, which means we get to go to the park an extra day!

We use them on non-consecutive days, split them across different people, the works. This year, we may even split the days of one of them up, and pay the $10 surcharge for an "extra" soak city day.
