Cedar Point pay rates

I remember reading, I think in a brochure, a long time ago about this, and if I remember there are quite a few bonuses or perks at Cedar Point the longer you work, but I can't remember all of the details.

Could somebody give me an outline of CP's pay rates and pay system for entry level employees?

This might be a question to post on GTTP in the employee lounge. http://www.guidetothepoint.com/cpplace.aspx?mode=topics&ForumID=3

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

Depends on the job and department.

Could ya be a little more specific?

Sorry - I'm talking about just standard ride operator/attendant.

Base rate this year is $6.25 an hour and $1.00 an hour worked bonus for fulfilling you work contract. Bonuses are paid out at the end of the season, after the contract has been filled.

Do the Moo Shoo!

When I was a kid in Sandusky, no one ever got that bonus... The "contract" required you to work to the end of the season, but everyone always quit their job at CP as soon as school started...

Has this changed?

Well I know i sure as hell didn't want to lose my $1100 bonus in 2001, so I finished out the season even after I went back to school.

I would've been stupid not to.

I would LOVE to work a summer at CP, but with me living about 2.5 hours away with a full time M-F job it isnt possible. I couldn't picture giving up $1100 bonus either!

We have waited all through the years for the 6 jokers cards...Carnival of Carnage, the Ringmaster, the Riddlebox, the Great Milenko, the Amazing Jeckel Brothers and now the 6th and Final card...the Wraith. What will happen now?

Back then, the bonus was never as good as $1 per hour - I think it was more along the lines of $0.25...

The funny thing is, no one in Sandusky ever wanted to work at CP - low pay, long hours, no overtime pay... It was always "If I can't find anything else, I'll get a job at CP..."

Only 1100 hours, Acercat? That is a vacation down here.

"Every Man Has Got to Know His Limitations"

My last season at the CP the pay rate was $1.85/hr with a 25 cent/hr bonus if you survived the season, oops completed your contract. Now if you were lucky enough to get a locomotive engineer position, they got paid a whopping $5.00/hr. This was good money for 1974.But this postion usually went to second and third season people.
