I am going to Cedar Point this weekend, and we will have early access from the hotels. I'd like to use the marina entrance so we can get to Valravn before a long line starts to build. (yes I know that It isn't the biggest and baddest so don't anser with critisism). I've never used that entrance before and I don't know if it's limited, or if it'd be better to use the main entrance. Any tips you might have are appreciated. Thanks, and good day!
You can get a bus from the hotel to take you to the Marina entrance and it puts you right there. Also gives quickest access to Millennium Force.
This may sound possibly excessive, but it's really not. If possible, you may want to get there at 8:25 or earlier for one of the first couple of trains, and beating the main entrance crowd.
Hey, let's ride (random Intamin coaster). What? It's broken down? I totally didn't expect that.
I want to get there pretty early before entry anyway. I'll consider this. plus, by the time I get off, the line wont necessarily be to long and I can ride it again.
Do you know if there is any specific parking for the Marina entrance? or can you use the main parking lot and walk there on foot?

Unless you have a boat at the marina, you have to park in the main lot. But, as long as you are staying at an on-site property hotel, just park there. They have shuttles that will take you to from any on-site property to any gate, other than the beach gate.
Thanks everyone who replied. Your insight really saved me a lot of stress! Also, I took a look at Google Earth, and I assume that It would be fin to walk along the marina to get to that entrance. Anyway, I think I have all the info I need, but if you want to say something, feel free!

Yes, I've walked back to the Marina gate on all my visits this year except one. It's a pleasant walk with nice views of Blue Streak, Raptor, the marina and the bay, the back of Valravn's station, there's morning air, you know. CP has done a nice job with that stretch and the new gate is great.
I haven't had great luck with early Valravn ride time. On more than one occasion the ride hasn't been quite ready, or they hadn't emptied the dummys yet, or the ride was down all together. So if I was hoping for immediate seating then a re-ride or two it wasn't happening, by the time I had taken one ride the crowd had arrived from the front gate and the early ride hour had almost ticked away.
Not to say it happens every day, but it was certainly my stupid luck a few times.
Valravn has been less than reliable early in the season. I can't confirm, but it seems the problems are with the brakes, specifically the final brake run. Backing this up is my ride last week where the brakes were so grabby and jerky that it made me slightly nauseous. I know it sounds silly, but it's true.
Yeah, my biggest complaint with the ride is the brake run and the way it grabs. It makes me slightly queasy, too.
Haha... thanks for validating my concern. As I was typing it, I was thinking about how many of my TRs and comments on coasters deal with me getting nauseous or trying really hard to avoid it. I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this about Valravn.
