Cedar Point in October

I always take a trip out to Cedar Point every summer, but this year I am unable to do so. My friends and I were thinking of going for a weekend in October. For any of you out there who have gone in the fall, is it worth the trip? Do most of the coasters operate? Are the lines ridiculous? Are the hotels any cheaper?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I absolutly LOVE going to CP in October. In fact thats usually the only time I go there anymore. The weather is nice. (Jeans and a shirt and a light jacket for night time is good) The crowds are smaller then also. I would say GO For It! Halloweekends are really fun there!
Holloweekends are pretty sweet. It can be a bit chilly, but bring a sweatshirt and some long pants and you'll be fine. As for crowds, Friday nights and Saturdays are still about average, but I find that the park is basically empty on Sundays. Last year, I went every Sunday and most rides were nearly walk up, with MF being about 15-30 minutes. With TTD, I'd imagine MF will be less than 20 minutes. And yes, all rides operate, except Gemini might not be racing.

I'm going to be making a trip in early October as well this fall. I hope it's worth it!

This is the race that straps you into the driver's seat and counts down to GO!

When I went for Halloweekends in October last year, it was great! Obviously you have to dress appropriately, as the weather is a little chilly at night, but it's well worth it.

We went on a Friday night, and the park was not at all crowded. The MF line was never off the ramp up to the station, and was walk on a couple times. That was the only ride that even had a line to speak of.

We ended up riding MF 7 times, WT 5 times, Raptor 4 times, and Magnum 3 times. And we still had time to take in a show!

My parents went on a Saturday, and found the park to be quite busy still, but I'm sure it wasn't as bad as normal.

I would definitely recommend going there for Halloweekends, and I plan on going twice this year.

Take care and God bless!

October is a generally outstanding time to go. Keep in mind that not all the rides will be operating on the Friday nights. Nevertheless I've enjoyed short lines on the rides which were open on Fridays, and Sundays were quite light too. The decorations and widespread fog were a neat touch. However if you go on closing weekend, particularly if it is beautiful weather whereas the previous few weekends were dreary, you should expect heavy crowds.
