Cedar Point historian David Francis passes away

Advertising executive David Francis, 58, passed away July 30, 2006. The author of more than a dozen books on the history of amusement parks and summer resorts, including "Cedar Point: The Queen of American Watering Places," David was a leading expert on Sandusky's Cedar Point.

Rest well, David!

Very sad. He was the keynote speaker at ACE's Coaster Con banquet in 2004 at Cedar Point. He was very knowledgeable of not only Cedar Point, but of many of the northern Ohio parks, past and present. I had the pleasure of meeting him at the conclusion of the banquet and he was very courteous and pleasant to talk with. My condolences to his family.
