CEDAR POINT GETS FREE PLUG

On Hope and Faithwith Kelly Ripa tonight Regis Philbin was guest starring. His character claimed to have a time share at Cedar Point. I know this isn't too newsworthy but it was nice to see CP get some national attention.

Does Cedar Point really need anymore attention after that one October weekend? They advertised Cedar Point and Dragster in Maryland, a good nine-hour drive away. Do you think the park was just picked out at random? I highly doubt it. With all the product placement going on these days, I wouldn't doubt if Cedar Fair payed for the plug.

Maybe they did Intamin Fan. It was still a surprise to hear considering the show is on ABC which usually bends over backwards to plug their own Disney parks.

Cedar Point gets plenty of free plugs from channel 5. I remember watching the news at least 5 times when they talked about the park. Well any time i hear someone randomly say roller coaster it gets me to pay attention. Coasters should be ads for all things. I was even watching this commercial for weight loss supplements once because it had the word roller coaster in it.

The ABC show '8 Simple Rules' also has mentioned Cedar Point at least once. I have also seen an episode of The Drew Carey Show in which he is hired by Six Flags. Drew's show is also an ABC show.

Did it ever cross any of your minds that they may not be talking about Sandusky's Cedar Point? I know for a fact that there are many other Cedar Points in the around. Look at this for example. Long Island, NY? Timeshare? Where is that show supposedly based?

It gets scary in here sometimes.

Cedar Point on Long Island barely exists and it's a park, so there wouldn't be any timeshares there. Moreso, it's near EastHampton and there's *definitely* not going to be any timeshares *there*.

Take it for a plug if you want to...but I thought she blew off the cedar point part of the deal (saying something to the effect of: 'the only words that I heard and cared about were car and money'). I also pointed out the Cedar Point plug to my wife when he said it - and she gave me that "you need to get a life" look.

But on a side note, I am really glad to see Ted McGinley back in a sitcom. I got to spend a week with the man at Canyon Ranch - a very nice, down to earth guy.

Actually there's a Cedar Point apartments down the street from my house here in Charlotte. Maybe Regis meant those or maybe Zingo's wife is right and we need to get a life. I don't know. I still think it's cool to hear their name in prime time. I mean really, how many people besides us know that they have 3 of the tallest(not the 3 tallest) rollercoasters in the world.

On a related note I do remember Regis making an announcement about Top Thrill Dragster when it opened on his day time show.
