Cedar Point general manager to retire

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

According to several sources at Cedar Point, as well as members of CP Place, Don Miears will retire from his position as General Manager of Cedar Point at the end of the season. Word on the street is that Cedar Point alumnus Dan Keller, currently general manager at Worlds of Fun, is next in line.

Wait? Dan Keller will become the new GM of CP? I thought John Albino of Dorney is next in line....?

where did our posts go Matt?
did we upset someone?
or did someone not like the fact that what we said was the truth?

Dustijn,

I deleted the posts. They were outright derogetory with only one intention... to bash a certain person that came into question. If you feel the need to continue to bash people, I respectively ask you to post elsewhere. We don't tolerate this behaviour on Coasterbuzz.

Neil,

I respect you oppinion on my posts, but still you don't know the entire story. Ever since CF:LP took over the park in 1995, they have continued to take away the precious theming of the park. Sure they have put in excellent rides, such as Detonator and Mamba, but they don't see the need to keep the themeing. It became very apparent this year that they don't care about the park's history and heritage when CF:LP tore out a tribute to the man behind the dream of WOF and replaced it with a flower garden. Yes I do have a reason to be bitter about the way Dan Keller has treated my homepark. When WOF really needed a super new ride to bring back in the business he opted for a standard boomerang. With the most hideous color scheme ever. AND it seems as if WOF will just roll over next year and add another upgrade to their kiddie land. THIS IS THE 2ND SINCE CF:LP TOOK OVER!!! To me that is a waste of money. Besides the fact that Snoopy was the mascot of WOF way back in the 70's! I don't know maybe I am a little too oppinionated, but you know what, I'm entitled to my oppinion. I'm sorry if you don't agree with it, but if you saw what this man has done to my homepark, and you knew how it was before he took it over, it just really hurts.

Respectfully
D
