Cedar Point discounts

Am travelling over from the UK and will be visiting Cedar Point midweek at the end of August. As it will be closing at 8pm I assume that the schools will be back and the park should be less busy. Is that a fair assumption? Also any one know of any discounts available? I notice CP have now removed the money off coupons on their online Getaway Guide, before I had time to print them off. Thanks in advance to anyone replying.

If you call the park, they'll be able to supply you with details and set aside a hard copy of the Getaway Guide which has $9 coupons in it.

I asked the same questions a month ago and was able to get great help. I will pass the information I got on to you. There is a grocery store in the area called Mijers, or something like that. Pronounced " Meyers".

They sell advanced ticket for much cheaper tha gate price. If you buy weekday tickets from them they are even cheaper. It's about 3.00 more for weekend tickets if I remember correctly. I would call them and make sure they still have the tickets.

Sign up for funtimes at cedarpoint.com, I got an email this week which linked to the site which had $20 off per night for the reorts on the property and $10 off for Breakers express, the coupons were valid from Aug 22 to Sep 2.

I booked Hotel Breakers for Aug 29-31 so I am quite pleased with that discount.

I'm sure ther might be some other good dicounts coming up if you're staying at Cedar Point.

Here is the link to the coupons :

Yes, MOST Ohio schools are starting early this year. I know of some in Northern Ohio starting as soon as Aug. 18th! I'm not sure of when Sandusky schools start. The week of 23-27 though would seem ideal to hit since that is when all of the average will be going back to school...or skipping it for one last summer getaway.
