Cedar Point DISAPPOINTMENT

I am disappointed with CP's announced ride.  It is way under all expectations.  What Happened?
How can people complain about an impulse? Please don't start again...you're just asking for trouble.

Why are you disappointed CoasterStud? What were you expecting...a 400 foot coaster? We are just a few years removed from Millennium Force...why go taller than that. The impulse was what the Point needed to round out their collection. If you are disappointed, dont go to the park! There will be less lines for me, and I guarantee ya, I spend enough money when I go to cover the both of us!

Mikey..

Its a business decision. Cedar Point will still outdraw SFWOA for a long time to come. Give me proof that opening a whole bunch of new rides like SFWOA did in a couple years adds to a parks attendance and money making power. Its not the amount of rides you put in, its all in how market the rides and satisfy costumers that get you a good reputation. And now the GP wont have to drive an extra hour and they still get many great rides.
I don't agree with Coaster Stud about being disappointed with CP, but at the sametime I don't agree with Olympic10086 about it rounding out their collection. There are alot of other type of coasters they could have gotten. I would have rather have seen a Hypersonic or some other full circuit launch coaster, but I think a 215ft Impulse is far from disappointing. I am still going to make the trip, and ride it. It won't stop me from going to SF WOA either. Why do you people have to make it out to be a big war? They are just coasters. They are meant for enjoyment. Relax take a deep breath, and stop crying like a bunch of girlies...;)

I think it is a bad business decision.  They are just copying an existing ride with the best fun element eliminated!  I don't know how SFWOA got in this conversation, but it is clear to say SFWOA will be making its mark in the near future.  Face the fact, SFWOA is the LARGEST amusement park in OHIO.  They also have the largest variety of coasters of any park (flying, floorless, wooden, impulse etc.).  They have only been there less than 2 years, give them this winter to make the necessary changes to improve the park.  To grow over 42% in attendance in 2 years is impressive!  Since SFWOA opened, CP has been losing attendance and $$.  Just because CP may market their new ride, does not mean they will get a good reputation, especially with SFWOA on their tail.  What GP are you talking about?  Cleveland is a huge city, with much surrounding territory?

The ride is being built, whether you like it or not (see construction pics at CP website). The reason people are disspapointed is because they started to believe their own rumors, or rumors floating around on the net. A ride with the price tag of Millennium Force only comes along every once in a while.
