Even though I haven't been there this year, I will be going sometime in august, What the heck is going on. Has anyone noticed any signs or anything that could point out what 2002 attraction could be and where they are putting it. I have heard a lot of rumors but I don't know what to believe. It is July to so there should be some signs of new attractions.

There is construction, but not on a 2002 attraction. It's on the ride Andrew briefly talked about.

At the turn of the Millennium, there were signs.
Exactly, what is the new ride?

From what I have read is that CP is most likly getting a TA2K i dont know where.Possibly a CCI in the next 2 years close to Disaster Transport, and possibly a wild mouse inside of unused space of diaster transport

Cedar Point, doesn't get any better then that:)
Yes, I think this year in particular, Cedar Point has done a great job of keeping the public guessing, and hiding information regarding their 2002 additions. Rumors are all around for the general public. Everything from a Thrust Air to a CCI woodie to a floorless to a flying. Don't worry about space, East Coast Rider, they ALWAYS find room...But I always amazed when people just ASSUME that Cedar Point is getting something new in 2002, who is to say that they are?
I think for the time being, we should just enjoy the great park for what we have, and the future attractions wll take care of themselves :)

I have a cousin who werks at CP and she told me that they are werkin on makin space by the giant wheel for somethin new, but that is all she know's. maybe gettin rid of the dolphin show arena fer a new coaster?????
Look either a: giant CCI wooden coaster, record B&M floorless or a thrust air coaster.
Yes, this is the last season for Oceana. (the aquadic stadium)
The new ride that is being constructed as we speak is an S&S slingshot ride in Challenge Park...it will be a pay ride like Ripcord.
...and you can rule out a B&M floorless. If it will be a CCI it won't be giant because CCI stays away from too tall of wooden coasters.
If it is a giant woodie, with I seriously doubt, it would be constructed by Intamin. A Thrust Air sounds like the most logical choice for the park (possibly dual tracks for capacity reasons), however, it seems too logical. I guess we won't know until they announce their 2002 plans...which I really hope includes a coaster.
