Cedar Point Coaster Mania 2016

I'm attending Coaster Mania for the first time this year and was wondering if it is needed to get the fast pass plusses while visiting, I do know there's limited spots and I've already registered but will they be needed?

Why would you need them? There is plenty of ERT to ride many of the coasters. With an attendance limit this year, there shouldn't be too big of waits during ERT.

No. Typically crowds aren't that bad that early in the season and with the amount of ERT on the coasters, there is plenty of other things to do if the wait times for the coasters are too long for your taste.

Will Jeff be out front handing out CoasterBuzz Club cards for us that took our time registering?

I have another question about coaster mania. I was looking at the Itinerary and from 10am - 7pm is the cruise going on. Silly question but I was wondering if rides would being open during this time frame? Thanks

Yes, Friday will be just like any other regular operating day in the park from 10am to 10pm.

You mean we have to share the park with the GP? Where's my refund?! Where's my free stuff!?

It's always amazing to think that (in spite of endless resources on this subject) there are folks who don't get it. In your first post you wonder if Fast Lane Plus will be necessary then later you wonder if rides will be open from 10-7. (<?)
As Ken P pointed out, Cedar Point will be open for business as usual that day. Your Coastermania ticket will give you all that plus the exclusive perks- ride time, some food, some speeches, a cruise, shows, and I don't know what else. You can do all of it or none of it, it's that kind of day.

Oh well, at least you knew to reserve in advance, and to be a card-carrying club member. I can't wait to hear the stories about the folks that showed up with neither expecting to participate anyway. I quit going to CM a while back due to the irritating cluster it had become. Hopefully the limited number of participants will put it back to a manageable and enjoyable experience for guests and staff.
