They're going to rename Mantis to Banshee.
Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."
So is it going away completely, or is this just the floorless conversion?

I guess CF was tired of Six Flags getting all the "ride conversion" hype, and wanted in on the action.
B&M must have figured out how CP can turn *the bug* into a sit-down coaster...either that, or it really is going to become the world's first inverted log flume.
Given how many times I've looked at Mantis and decided to do something less painful...there's NO way this isn't a win.

Its 12:05. Are heads exloding on Pointbuzz yet?
PointBuzz is overloaded right now, it's running very slow.
Yeah, the pointbuzz server seems to have been brought to its knees. I wonder just how many people ate trying to access that right now.
PointBuzz and CoasterBuzz are on the same "server," akshully.

A floorless conversion would likely not require closing the ride prior to the end of the season.

B&M has turned trains backwards, but this would be the first conversion of a ride from one style of train to another. I wouldn't count SheiKra because removing the floor from a sit-down train is hardly the same thing as what this would entail.
Given B&Ms (spotless? Or just really close) record of having rides ready for the following season...might be closing Mantis early just to buy them some extra time with good weather.
The new name, honestly, is just an anagram of the old name....
SIT, MAN.... ;~P
Along with any kind of conversion, I could see them maybe making a few changes in the layout, or something, just to spice it up a bit - but who knows.
The only thing that could really use a change is a reconfig of the ending. Bending the end of the ride made for some difficult stops when they ran three trains and stacked them (which was pretty much most of the time). Granted, with a non-standup restraint, I suspect they could run three trains pretty efficiently.
