Cedar Point 8/17/02

Associated parks:
None

Unlike a lot of people on this site, I don't get a chance to go to parks that often, so even though I live in suburban Cleveland this was my first trip to CP this summer.

I went as part of the MS 150 bike ride, which is a 75 mile bike ride to CP and then 75 miles back the next day. I went with my dad, and we arrived at the park around 5, he headed over to soak city (he doesn't like coasters) and I headed to wicked twister.

Wicked Twister: I give this ride an 8/10. The acceleration is great and the twisting is out of control. The wait was about 45 mins, and it broke down in the middle but was promptly fixed.

Gemini: 9/10. Always a fun ride, rode the red train and we won. no wait

Magnum: 7/10. Got seat 1.3 and up to the pretzel loop it was great, but on the bunny hills my legs were smashed violently into the lap bar, that was more painful than fun. 40 min wait

Raptor: 10/10. This was my best ride on raptor ever, i got the back car and the seat on the outside of the turn on the first drop. The swing out towards the midway was high and fast, and the whole ride was fast and smooth. 45 minute wait

Millenium Force: 10/10 I had to wait 1hr 40 mins but it was worth it. I rode at night and this ride just blows me away every time. Last summer I was debating about whether S:ROS at SFNE was better than MF but now there is no doubt in my mind, the speed on MF is just incredible, and the floater air is crazy.

Overall: It was a saturday and as expected the park was really crowded. The ride ops were great though, and they were running 3 trains on everything, even on both sides of Gemini. It wouldn't have suprised me if they ran 3 trains on wicked twister (LOL). I only had about 5 and a half hours in the park, so I'm looking forward to coming back soon for a whole day. I made it home biking, but I think next time I go I'll drive. :-)

Did you see a guy with a cool lookin Magnum shirt on? That was me!!

not sure if I saw you, I seem to vaguely remember a cool lookin magnum T-shirt, lol
I was there all weekend myself. Just got back about 20 minutes ago. I am sure I just blended in with the rest of the crowd(Didn't have any coaster shirts on.) I'll have a TR on my weekend there as soon as I have the time to get to it. Everytime I go there I find another reason why I want to go back. ;)

thank you for participating in the MS 150...

hopefully the money you raised will go toward finding a cure.

Thanks for SAVING THE WHIZZER!! it couldn't happen to a better ride...
