Cedar Point 8/13 (long)

Associated parks:
None

8/12 - At 1 o'clock in the afternoon, we start our 7 to 8 hour treck from Allentown to Sandusky. We arrive a little after 8 o'clock, check into the hotel, go to Applebees for dinner, and then go back to the hotel to get some sleep for the upcoming day.

8/13 - We wake up around 8 o'clock, shower, and go to Perkins for breakfast. We get to Cedar Point around 10:30.

First thing we hit...Raptor- It was wierd hearing the "roar" cuz I am so used to Talon. We waited in line for about an hour, more or less. We sat in the back seat. Raptor has a really great first drop. I really like this ride, except there was quite a bit of headbanging. In the final helix, I thought my legs were going to get ripped off cuz the forces were so strong! Great ride!, besides the headbanging.
Next we went on the Cedar Downs. I was surprised to see no line for this ride! It was really fun!
We then went on to Iron Dragon - waited about a half hour if that. Sat in the middle. It wasn't too fast of a ride, but I really liked it, especially after the second lift to the brakes!
Then we went on to the UP side of Power Tower. We got lucky and got the outside facing LE. Amazing view!
After that we did Corkscrew - waited less that a half hour. We took the second seat cuz it was the shortest line. This ride wasn't really made for tall people. The harness was almost at my knees. The speed bump was nice, except I hurt my shoulders on the harness. The loop is pretty intense. I didnt like the "corkscrew" part tho, my head was banging all over the place. I would ride again tho!
Onto the Gemini!!! - I didnt understand why they were running 3 red trains, and only 2 blue trains. This was a very fun ride! The headchoppers are REALLY good! Unfortunately, my train lost :-(
Next is was Mean Streak - The line was a little over an hour. The structure for this ride is amazing. I was just staring in awe at how beautiful it is, it looks so much bigger in person! We decided to wait for the front since I heard this ride was very rough and the front on woodies is usually the smoothest. It actually was that rough at all. I really liked it, there wasn't really any airtime, but I liked it! The brakes were on a little hard tho :-(
Next we took a trip on White Water Landing - A VERY nice log flume, or should I say canoe flume! We didnt get too wet, but enough to cool us off, since it was fairly hot.
Next we decided to go over to Challenge Park and try out the new VertiGO! - WOW! This thing is amazing. We did the Comsic Flip where you shoot up sitting up and then flip to face the ground at the top. I wasn't too sure about the harnesses tho, they werent very tight! When we did the "flip" at the top, I was like sliding over the little handle in front of me. I thought I was gonna fall out! Definitely worth the $!
We came back to CP and got in line for Magnum - waited less than an hour. Sat in the last car, first seat. I can see why it is the #1 steel coaster, but it is not my #1, The airtime and every thing is AMAZING! But when I got off, I had a major headache! The brakes before the turnaround were on pretty hard too. I loved the ride, except that it gave me a BIG headache.
We made our way over to Mantis - We waited about an hour and 15 minutes cuz they were only running 2 trains! We sat in the second to last row. This thing puts some pressure on your legs! I liked the ride, but I still had my headache, so I couldnt enjoy it as much. Definitely a good ride tho, but I didnt like the trims on the drop!
After Mantis we got some hot dogs and fries, and I took some Motrin for my headache. CP's hot dogs are very plump!
I think it was around 7:30 or so and we got im line for MILLENNIUM FORCE! - The wait was about 2 hours. My headache finally went away! YAY! Now I could enjoy my ride on MF! We were about halfway thru the line when this huge black cloud started coming towards us. The winds were picking up, and luckily the storm blew right by us, not a drop of rain! We got lucky! As we got closer and closer to getting on, my heart started pounding faster and faster! We finally got to get on after 2 hours, we sat somewhere in the middle. We started going up the hill very fast, and about halfway up it started going faster.(by the time we were on it was dark) Then we crest the hill going...going...gone...facing down at the ground like you were going to crash into it! What a rush! I love the brakes on this ride, how it brings you to a stop soo smoothly. This is definitely the best, most amazing, high speed, adrenaline rush ride ever built in the history of man kind!!!lol.
Not sure what time it was, but we made our way back to the Cedar Creek Mine ride. It seemed like the park had been abandoned back in this area! It was mostly employees cleaning up! We got in line and got right on, they were only maybe 4 other people on the ride. It was hard to tell where you were going since it was dark and the ride isnt lit. This was one of the best mine trains I've been on!
We started walking towards the front of the park, got an ICEE on the way. Still didn't know what time it was so we headed over to Disaster Transport. Waited about 10 minutes and were lucky(I think) to get the front seat. When you're going up the lift, they make it seem like its alot steeper than it is, it was wierd, the smell was wierd too on the lift. I was scared of this ride cuz I had no clue were I was going! I loved this ride! I just wish it was longer!
Then we quick ran(actually walked fast) over to Blue Streak. Walked right on! This is a nice old woodie! I think we sat in 4-1, You get some really nice airtime on the "out" portion, not as much on the "back" part. A really nice ride!

And somewhere in there we took a ride on the train! We didnt have time to do Wildcat. This truely is the BEST amusement park in the world!!! I can't wait to go back!
Side note: I love how they call the 1 restroom in Frontier Town the "Comfort Station"! All in all, it was the best experience at an amusement park in my life! AMAZING!!!

I've never understood why people hate Mantis's brakes so much.

I don't hate them, they're just distracting.

I'd like a tall CCI out and back, and a grande nonfat Latte to go please!
Just curious, but did riding Magnum itself cause your headache or did you have it before you went on it? Seeing as the ride as no OTSR to bang in to or anything..

I had a very minor headache that I could barely feel, but after I got off of Magnum, my head was just throbbing. I loved the ride and all, it was just rough! Mean Streak didnt even bother me, I actually thought it was quite smooth, then again I did sit in the front not back.

TALON rocks! Peace out!
I'm glad you enjoyed my home park.
I haven't been there for awhile (Working on the Coaster count) and I can't wait to do vertigo. If all goes well I'll be checking out your home park laborday w/k.
I can't wait to ride Talon!
I got front seat on Mean Streak and me and my friend thought she was rather bumpy. (Imagine trying to carry on a conversation with a fan stuck between two people. The way your voice would sound with that is the same thing on MS)

Never even noticed the trims on Mantis. I saw them, but I didn't feel them.

Dude it took you 7-8 hours from allentown. Im two hours away in south jersey and i made cedar point in 8. and i stopped 4 or 5 times cuz my girlfriend was in the car. You must drive slow....or is it that i drive really fast. I think its a little from column A and a little from column B
I was driving 80 most of the way and we only stopped 2 or 3 times. Maybe you took a shorter route. We took the turnpike most of the way. It was only a little over 7 hours.
