Cedar Point 6/3/13

I remember reading long ago that Mine Ride was supposed to be enclosed inside a mountain structure, but the budget didn't allow for it. Looking at the rides layout, that kind of makes sense.

Timber-Rider, I love the picture that you painted in my head about a potential theme for Mine Ride.

I believe that was Snake River Falls that was supposed to have a mountain. Never heard of of a mountain for Mine Ride before.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Hanging skeletons wearing miner hats, or big spiders would be cool.

AND big spiders. None of this "or" stuff.

What about hanging skeletons OF big spiders wearing miner hats?

This is starting to sound like a ride review of Black Diamond!

I "de-cobwebbed" the Paddlewheel Excursions boats frequently when I worked there, and I am going to say that one wouldn't have to theme the stuff at Cedar Point to giant spiders, because all you have to do is look in the cracks and crevices to find real giant spiders. Turn your cell phone into a makeshift flashlight and light up some dark place next time you find yourself in the park at night. I mean they are terrifying.

They are probably even more terrifying after ingesting hallucinogenic pot brownies.

^^ Voted up for the brownie joke. Not for the spider info. I could have been much happier not ever knowing that. *shiver*

I saw a park that did giant fake spiders for a Halloween event on their coasters and I thought it looked really cool. Theming on rides doesn't necessarily have to be ridiculous or super costly to give them a little extra "pizazz" to the look. Though I am excited to someday see the Gatekeeper at the front of the midway (doesn't sound like it needs any extra stuff to be impressive in appearance).

Spiders are one of the few scary animals that don't scare me.

Last year, our night ride on the Giant Wheel at CP was going great.......until my kids saw some big spiders up in the corners! I thought they were going to exit the cabin!

CP definitely has some huge, terrifying looking spiders!

Maybe for Halloweekends, they can rename Troika the Angry Spider.

Or, more likely, the Monster should be the Angry Spider, right? And the Witches Wheel should be.... oh.

I heard a fun factoid the other day that said that at any given time every human on earth is 3 feet or less away from a spider of some kind. Yikes.

Im not doubting it, but I don't recall ever seeing scary spiders at CP. Now, bats? Yes. Some evenings the sky over the Coliseum would be black with em. More yikes.

Wow. An ongoing, in the moment trip report? What a great idea. With technology the way it is now, why hasn't anyone ever done this before?

I did it for most of my three day trip. Just not here at CoasterBuzz.

Compared to Sunday the second (6/2), Monday the third (6/3) was downright crowded.

Maybe I'm just spoiled?
