Cedar Point 5K Challenge

So are there any other runners here?

I just signed up for the Cedar Point 5K Challenge on Sunday June 16th.

I started running about 2 1/2 months ago using the C25K program and now am running 5k twice a week and longer runs once a week as I am training for running a half marathon at Disney in November.

If I can do it, anyone can :)

Before you can be older and wiser you first have to be young and stupid.

Oh, yes. Well,... I run if there's gravy, does that count?

But seriously, Dave, congratulations. That's awesome.

Dave, i'm considering doing it. I just finished one up about two hours ago. All i know is that I'm not lasting the whole day at the park.

I've gotten out of the habit of running regularly, and it shows. Signing up for this might be the nudge I need.

I have run on a treadmill for a couple of years. Looking to run official 5K with my daugther who runs cross country. This may be a good one to start.

I just restarted running about 6 months ago. I wish there were some similar events down here in SFoT land. That's really cool

Hi

My GF and I both run, but I just got a resounding "no" from her as she saw through yet another attempt on my part to fill our summer weekends with trips to amusement parks.

Parallel lines on a slow decline.

Break Trims, I hear you. Between my new love for intense workouts and my coaster fandom, I think my husband is ready to kill me. I'm lucky he's going with me to KD in a few weeks (my last KD trip and all my CP trips were solo).

Dave, it is wonderful you are running. I've been doing Supergirl workouts (Insanity-like circuit training mixed with Tabata) and boxing, and I still don't have the endurance to run long distances. I'd like to get my stride back. Congrats on your efforts!

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

I've ran 5k's, but I'm out of shape now. I don't run x country anymore.

Which country DO you run?

No, x-country. It's an abbreviation for cross country. That's a sport where you run through forests and other places long distances. Usually, it's about 5k.

I so want to believe that Tyler is just messing with us, but I doubt it.

Like I've said before: the nature of me messing with you is that sometimes I am, sometimes I'm not. This time I was. Or was I???

You were not.

but I was!

No you weren't (times infinity, no take backs.)
