Cedar Point 2002 Construction!!

These pics http://www.mattnevans.com/CP_2002/

Show the consrtuction at Cp shows Track!!!! Yellow Intamin Box track likely to be an impulse!!

Looks really cool Maybe the track doen't look so much like an Impulse compared to pics of Superman at WOA.
These pics also show 20 spools of some sort of cable any idea what that is for?p

Might I make a suggestion here:  Knott's is supposed to be getting a launched, full-circuit Intamin for 2002.  Makes sense to me that CP might be getting a larger version of the same thing.  That might explain the spools of wire.  It would also explain that the straight line of footers we've seen thus far is for the launch.  A shuttle just doesn't make any sense to me...too little an hourly capacity.
I think Mamoosh might be right here. Heck, if that's the case, no complaints from me. Not that I was upset with the idea of the original impulse... Cedar Point is known for turning huge lines into fast moving lines, experts in ride capacity. If it was an impluse like V2 or STE, they would have to be dueling. Either way, I can't wait!
That "wire" is most likely fiber optics which impulses are just laced with...
What about the track?  It looks like its a dip.  I've never seen those on an impulse.

My God... it's this obvious and some of you still insist it's something else? It's an impulse, folks, and all of that heavy cable is the same stuff you see wired to the motors on the other impulses. It's not complete circuit, it's a big impulse.

I gurantee you its an impluse by looking at the track.

Umm, just because it's sitting that way doesn't mean it's a dip.  It's obviously the upward turn to the spikes!  The cable, electrical wires or fiberoptic type things.  Yeah and like Jeff said, people keep making more speculations even though it IS going to be an impulse.

But look at how the track goes up, then down, then back up again.  Maybe its just me.  lol.

BTW, did Jeff just confirm the new impulse??

Hey Jeff...if its what you say it is then great.  I love the Intamin shuttles.  I just hope the park has come up with a creative solution to the capacity issues, whether it be dual tracks or a split-load station, but even if they don't you won't here me complaining.  Any new coaster that brings in more revenue and gives CF the opportunity to build more coasters is fine by me.
...it could the apex of the spiral...

You guys are all way off on what this track is for.  There are problems at the tops of the crossover hills of MF and they're retracking.  The yellow is just a primer coat of paint.

Well, as soon as I saw those pics, I immediatly thought that was Intamin Track, and it was gonna be an Impulse Coaster. The thing I wanna know is, Its rumoured(That if the ride is an impulse) It will have improved capasity. Any Ideas as to how they will manage this. I'm guessing a double impulse(Dought it, but maybe) Or 4 Across Seating????
Ha, Ha!, ShiveringTim! But you are wrong; they're building a MF clone and making it a racing coaster. But seriously, I can't wait to hear details about the new impulse.
Shivering Tim,

Do u know this to be factual?Im sure nobodies gonna paint a peice of track 300 feet in the air!

And Jeff do u work for Intamin or own CP?If not shut yr mouth,i doubt u know what is exactly going on.

It's called sarcasm buddy. Nitro230, you are the essence of unappreciative. You wouldn't know a damn thing if it weren't for people like Jeff.
