Cedar Point 1st time

I'm going to Cedar Point for the first time Tuesday the 18th. Does anyone know what the crowds will be like? Any tips are appreciated.

CP always has crowds, a Tuesday would be an excellent choice.....due to their operations, all coasters will be running to full capacity (save perhaps WT - is it back up yet?). Call me a "fanboy" if you must, but at 34 I'm a "fanman". Seriously, I don't know of other parks that run rides to capacity even on "slow" days....

...just avoid the water rides during the busiest times and you'll be fine. Two days is certainly better for a CP first-timer, but other than DT, WildCat and WT, most of the coasters eat long lines for lunch (thanks to those awesome crews).

Tuesday should be great. You can go to Cedar Point.com and get a map of the park. With that you can kinda plan a strategy. You should have no trouble riding everything that you want to at least once. Must ride rides are the Millennium, Mantis, Raptor, Magnum, Mean Streak, Blue Streak, Chaos, Power Tower, Wicked Twister and the Gemini. If you like water rides, White water landing is good, but you don't get all that wet. Snake river soakes you. Thunder Canyon usually soaks all but one in the raft. Chaos is a spinning ride that is great, but if you rock the car, it is totally awesome. Don't forget the other coasters, Iron Dragon, Cork Screw and the Mine Car ride. Oldies, but goodies. Usually little wait if any. If you want to hit the Millennium first, you go to the end of the midway and go to the left, cross the railroad tracks and the entrance will be on your left. Millennium takes your picture in the second tunnel, so turn your head a little bit to the left and smile. We usually hit the Raptor first. It is close to the entrance on the left. Can't miss it. The line has usually been real short when the park first opens. Everyone seems to make a mad dash for the Millennium. There is also a "Free way" for the Millennium. You get your hand stamped with a time and return at that time and ride without having to wait in line. The little booth is right by the entrance to the M. WT is to the right as you enter the park. You will see the yellow towers. Disaster Transport is next to the WT and has a short line. I don't think it is that bad of a ride. CP also makes some great fudge and salt water taffy. If you like that, don't forget to stop on the way out and buy some. The shop will be on the right as you head for the exit. Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip. I know that you will.

Get to the Point

Thanks so much for the tips. I"m going with people who have been there before, but not since millenium force or mantis opened, so they should know the basic layout, but i'm gonna print out a map for help. thanks. only 6 more days.

I went manday and yesterday for my first trip. The lines wern't too bad. I think the longest line I was in was Millenium Force which was about an hour and a half. Wicked Twister was unfortunately down both days without even one test run. Maybe they will have it working for you.

Oh yeah if you can get the Millenium Force speedpass if you can then you only have to wait about 15 minutes for it.

Oops typo Monday
Tell us how your trip went.
