Not really... LA Times, USA Today, The Motley Fool, Stuff, ABC Radio, ABCnews.com, Fox News and countless local papers and TV stations. We get around a lot.

Full of hot air, are we??

I like your feedback of Maverick the ride for these simple reasons. Your specific details of the ride from beggining to end is considerably straight forward. Your description of the pro's and con's will eliminate a large amount of arguements and bashful comments to come, and above all, you have now made myself and scores of others seek out this new attraction with open arms. I have no negative thoughts from you post. Well Done!

A dissapointing few weeks redeemed only by an outstanding report.

Are you frickin' kidding me? Did you get paid to say that? Why don't you just offer to wash his car - it would be a lot less transparent, and at least SOME good would come out of it...

....chuckling to self....

^ Wow, you just joined to post that nonsense?

Way to go dude, your jealousy is also...very transparent. ;)

Why should I apologize for my success? I've earned it, thank you.

What a great description!!! My husband and I are really looking forward to riding it during Coaster Mania on June 15th. I'm counting the days!

I'd rather be riding Roller Coasters....or baking.

^Meh, he'll be *begging* to get banned within a week....then come back with a new screen name...

Some stuff just gets more and more predictable over time...LOL! :)

i liked maverick, it made me smile :)
If this ride runs reliably, I think it is exactly what Cedar Point needs to sort of restore their reputation after the Dragster fiasco. The biggest problem in the first two days seemed to be that they were burning through wheels I saw them transfer off and then back on at least five times and my Sunday night ride was over the top of a bad wheel. But other than that, the ride never stopped loading for more than 5 minutes or so which is encouraging.

Not only is Maverick great to ride (there are two pops of air that are of S:ROS intensity), but it is also an interesting ride to watch. There are trains flying all over the place with short intervals, sound effects, water effects, etc. Watching it from the Skyhawk queue later in the day on Saturday, we literally couldn't stop giggling at it.

Additionally, they did a great job of using the old Whitewater Landing station as part of the queue and for the on-ride photo area and gift shop. When I saw all those trees cut down last year, I was disappointed, but the queue area is so nice, it almost feels like you are somewhere other than Cedar Point. I's more like a Busch queue. Not highly themed, but there is some natural shade and it's just well done. They are going to need to do something about the lagoon in the queue though because it was getting rather gross after only two days of operation.

I'm very pleased with this addition and quite honestly, it's a better all around ride experience than anything CP has installed since probably Raptor.

glad to hear a lot of positive reports. Hopefully the ride does not have any reliability issues. I can be a little tough on Intamin from a design standpoint, but it appears they got it right. I do sort of have the quesion though what on earth were they trying to pull with that roll because it seems like people are saying it would not have been comfortable.

^ Cudos to the first half.

Ask not what you can do for a coaster, but what a coaster can do for you.
MDOmnis, just to clarify you mean train wheels and not kicker tires right? This is the first I've heard of this, would you say most downtime we've seen is definently do to this? Also just out of curiousity did you see them doing maintenance on the transfer track, new wheels on site, over hear someone talking?

One Love
