Cedar Point - June 9,2001

We got to CP around 10:30. Just going over the causeway I knew this was going to be trouble. Too many cars. I think the average wait time was 1 hour and 45 minuted for a ride. How about this for a CP nickname "Cedar Point America's Wait Coast"? And the people, they were just annoying. They had so many security guards I felt like I was in a prison. They had to escrt at least 20 people from the park for line jumping. It was just absurd. But anyways here's my ratings.

I thought all of the staff was very nice. What's so special about the Mantis crew? My favorite was the Raptor staff.
Food - 0
ABSURD. $10.45 for two hamburgers and fries. RIDICULOUS.
Cleanliness - ***

Millenium Force - *****
Is there anyhting like the Force? The answer is no. It is just an amazing coaster. This is definetly worth a 1 3/4 hour wait. The overbanked turns are just amazing. And the drop! You have to hold up your hands on the first drop. AMAZING! My new favorite coaster.
Raptor - *****
It just got a new paint job. It looks pretty good. The ride is awesome. Of course. You have to sit on the outside on this ride. The zero-g roll throws you out of your seat if you sit on the end.
Mantis - ***
It only got three because of the irst drop and the loop. The rest of the ride stunk. You have to wait in line then stand on the coaster! Not one of my favorites. Not worth the 1 and 3/4 hour wait we had.
Iron Dragon - Broke Down
Wildcat - Didn't Ride
Corkscrew - ***
It was CP's first iverting coaster. Not one of my favorites but love the corkscrews over the midway.
Cedar Creek Mine Ride - Didn't Ride
Blue Streak - Didn't Ride
Magnum XL 200 - **
I don't get how this is a #1 rated coaster. It banged me around like heck. And some people complained about the Steel Phantom banging you around! It was fun but not my favorite.
Mean Streak - ***
They need to oil the track or something. A fun ride but man was it running crummy. Needed something. But all in all o fun ride.
Gemini - ***
They didn't have the two trains racing against each other! Stupid isn't it! But I love that helix at the end of the ride.
*** Some rides like Iron Dragon were broke down and re opened and I didn't get to ride them. Some rides like Wildcat had too long of a wait for a short ride.***
Well CP was very ugly on June 9. This is a warning:
DO NOT GO TO CEDAR POINT THE FIST WEEK IN JUNE. YOU WILL BE VERY VERY SORRY.
The people were the most disappointing they were ignorant and rude. Sorry, I may have come on a bad day. But that was my trip to CP.

I still don't get why people complain about food prices. You're at an amusement park, what do you expect? Cedar Point food is still cheaper than at your average pro sports event.
Besides, $10 at Midway Market gets you all you can eat. :)
I guess pricing isn't an issue for me when I'm at a park because I'm on vacation.

Raptor is beautiful looking now. I dint relluy care for the mantis it badly needs a paint job on the rails
You go to an amusement park on a SATURDAY and wonder why the waits were so long. HMMMMMMM.
You buy food at an amusement park then complain it was expensive. HMMMMMMM.
I always bring my own food to CP-but Jeff is right about Midway Market. By "people being ignorant and rude" I am assuming you meant the gp? The Raptor crew is AWESOME this season but so is the Mantis crew.
#1 coaster fan-Mantis will be painted next season, but I think the ENTIRE ride needs done, and will be done, not just the rails!

Im glad you dislike the Magnum because I also dislike it very much. How is it rated the best steel coaster. The longest I waited for MF was about 1 hour and 30 mintues. I didn't go on it during the afternoon because it was a 3 hour wait. Just go on it during the morning and after 3:00pm. During the afternoon, go on other rides to pass time.

Wow... the Magnum is my favorite coaster. Before my last trip (Friday the 8th), I thought it was a good ride and the Villain was my favorite coaster. Now after riding it, it's now my favorite all time coaster. I also didn't like MF too much before the 8th, but now, it's one of my favorite steel coasters.
That visit on the 8th really changed my perspective on CP's quality and rides. Their dispatching time was amazing, and I only wish SFWoA, the closest park to my home, could compete with that. Sigh.. looks like I have a few more years to go until I should see SFWoA truly competing with CP.
