Cedar Fair revenue, attendance down, per capita spending up

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

Cedar Fair, LP expects to report second quarter net revenues of $145 million, down 1.5% from last year’s second quarter, and operating income for the period of $27-28 million, down $4-5 million from a year ago. The company says that cool and wet weather is to blame. Guest per capita spending is up about 3% over the same period last year.

You know, I have been using that acronym forever and just now realized how funny it sounds! :)

Why are the operating costs down so much?

I would think they would go up every year.

Remember Swoosh....even IF WoF/OoF posted HUGE gains, it's still more than offset by what's happening at "The Big Three" of CP, Dorney, and KBF. When CF gets down to hammering out figures and such, any noticeable gains in KC's attendance will likely be reflected in next year's Cap-Ex....

bill, had a great time at WoF....and at the BBQ place down the street...:)

Fury, it's not the operating costs that are down -- it's operating income (profits at the park level).

And I stand corrected on August guys, that's what I get for being a Floridian (most area schools kick in two weeks from now and Disney goes into "value" season on August 23).

It's only value season if you're local!
