maybe Dorney would get the Intamin launcher...
Am I forgetting something? Which Intamin launcher?
Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."
I think I'm going to start up a GoFundMe to save Grizzly. That's an older, "historic" coaster, right? Perhaps In N Out Burger would be willing to re-locate it to a parking lot so that the history may be preserved for future generations.
Baaahahha. Grizzly is a thing of nightmares! I am one of the few that enjoy riding it though. Definitely a unique experience! Got to ride twice in a row today right at park closing time. I think the resulting headache will last until I go to sleep tonight ha.
And yeah as for the Intamin Launcher... definitely no Intamin launcher at CGA. I think most likely Bunky meant the Intamin drop tower? The only Intamin coaster is the Woodstock Express haha, and I doubt that walking speed launch would be considered a launcher ha

Oh also a local news channel put up this awesome historical video on their FB page: https://www.facebook.com/ktvu/videos/10153480720357061/?pnref=story
Well, let's be honest here for a second.
Of all of the "major" parks out there, if I had to rank them in order of most likely to be sold to developers, CGA would be #1 on the list, with Magic Mountain being #2.
An amusement park which sits right next to a brand new NFL football stadium, and is within a rock's throw of the headquarters of some of Silicon Valley's most famous company names, is obviously in an "at risk" location. Add to that the goofy land lease issue, and well, who are we fooling here?
That park has been on the chopping block at least twice in its life (probably more if we actually knew the details), and honestly I wouldn't be surprised at all to hear news of its closing. I know of no specifics, but again, It's just too precariously placed to believe that it can continue much longer.
Make no mistake, the Irvine Company gets what it wants in Southern California (full disclosure, i live in Irvine California), and if there is profit to be made in converting the CGA site, then they will most likely get their hands on it.
They're closing GCA - and relocating everything to Ohio to re-open Geauga Lake. It's a win-win, really. You heard it here first.

The park isn't going anywhere but Pennsylvania.
The trick was to surrender to the flow.
Well I just read some awesome news, and it appears to be more than just Internet rumors because the permit application is public records and actually posted in the link. But... CF has officially applied for a zoning permit for EXPANSION at CGA, and announced they would be attempting to purchase the land later this year when it goes up for sale. Us bay area folk are super excited and optimistic (like Jeff told us to be heh). Link: http://greatamericanthrills.net/2016/03/30/californias-great-americ...ga-notice/

They are opening a GoFundMe to cover the moving expenses and accepting volunteers with pickup trucks to haul the coaster track across country.
Any chance the GM came out and said what he did specifically to assuage these rumors? Don't set your hair on fire.

Got Knotts and CGA mixed up. Whoops!

^that's heresy.
