Cedar Fair Entertainment Company (NYSE: FUN), a leader in regional amusement parks, water parks and active entertainment, today announced the declaration of a regular quarterly cash distribution of $0.25 per limited-partner unit, consistent with the Company’s annualized distribution rate of $1.00 per unit. The distribution will be paid on November 16, 2009 to holders of record November 4, 2009.

The $1.00 annual payout it's still nearly 10% of the stock price. Still a better rate than most dividends are giving.
Is that large dividend a requirement of the corporate structure? I seem to recall reading something about the Partnership being an untaxed entity because it pays its corporate profit to the unitholders or some such complex structure like that...no, I don't understand it, and no, I am not a unitholder...
