I just read an article and I cant find it now that cedar fair parks attendance figures are down 7 percent from last year. Anyone else seen this, I will post in News section If I find again. They will have to have a real good summer to make up for slump.

The economy is slow as a whole. People have cut back on their spending. Sure its going to effect the amusement industry as a whole. Amusement parks are a luxury item to people. Not an essential for survival. I am sure all parks attendance is down at least the same percentage as Cedar Fair. Some are probably are probably higher. Even down 7% Cedar Fair will still make alot of money. Just not as much as last year. Maybe it will make them want to add something spectacular to attract more people to their parks.
Here is the link and No its not a few week's into Cedar Fairs season, its a few month's they own KBF who's open all year. Ive also just submitted this to news.
They state its bad weather that caused lower figures, I believe them weather around here has sucked.

I know! Even during the depression they considered parks essential to uplift their spirits! (of course, if we ever hit another depression there isn't anyway people will pay $40 to enter a park. The little guys will prove the winners :)

Blue Streak Laps : 490 ~~ 85 in one day
I've already hit CP and PKI last month. Going to all three Six Flags Parks here in Texas next weekend. Then the following week I am going to Florida to hit Universal/IOA, Sea World, and Busch Gardens. Then if all goes right I want to hit PKD and BGW at Labor Day. So actually it could turn out to be as many as 11.
if ur goin to florida for the Rides , don't go to sea world and pay 40$ unless u got some kind of discount or unless u've never been on kracken before , but IOA/universal is well worth your money for thrills . I got season passes for IOA , universal studios , , AND Sea world but i've only been to sea world 2 times in 01'

Everything above was my opinion. If you disagree, please respond in an intelligent fashion. But before you post,I warn you that some people say I'm just too smart to understand. Please take that into consideration.
The weather isn't shaping up to be that great next week either around the Point. Great for me, shorter lines:). I think once the weather clears up though (although it seems like it will forever rain) CP's attendance should be up.

Millennium Force: the ride of the year 2000.
Why dont they try building another attraction or something to add more guest.
I haven't ridden Kraken yet, but I am going with a friend of mine and her daughter and they really want to do Sea World, so I am not complaining. I've also already done all of the other Florida coasters. We got the 14 day unlimited passes for Universal/IOA/Sea World/Busch Gardens/Wet n' Wild. Actually, a really awesome deal for about $180.
It's not an economy thing, trust me. I haven't seen a May like this on the North Coast in years. I've been paying attention because I have no grass in the yard yet (new house). My mud flow is insane, you should see it right now.
Weather in the biggest variable in the business. Trust me, on the nice days, Cedar Point has had decent crowds. I'm surprised it's only down 7%.
Keep this in perspective... 90% of the attendance comes June to August.
And with that, move it over to the news section...
