Cedar Fair drops suit to challenge 49ers stadium next to California's Great America

Cedar Fair noted in their announcement regarding the cancelled sale of Great America they were dropping a lingering lawsuit challenging the 49ers stadium project. The decision to retain the park's ownership signaled an end to several years of threats over the impact of a stadium on the park as Cedar Fair expressed worries over potential parking headaches for park patrons. The 49ers released a statement praising the Ohio-based company's decision to retain control of the park.

The parking lot reaches near capacity a few times a year. Then every few years or so, we get the perfect storm on Columbus Day weekend and people are practically walking in from McDonald's. (yes I'm exaggerating a bit) So, it's not that parking is really an issue. The reason it comes up is because someone always thinks the park is running out of room and will need to remove parking to build more rides. That in turn usually spawns the parking conversations.
