Cedar Fair today announced $25 million in capital expenditures for 2004. Knott's Berry Farm will get the new Rip Tide, and Worlds of Fun will get a new ride to be announced at a later date. Cedar Point will see Lighthouse Point expanded with 14 new lakeside cottages, 30 cabins and 38 luxury RV campsites, while Soak City will get a new play area with the typical "gadgets."

Read the press release from Cedar Fair.

Again ,Cedar Point proves to be the King in the theme and amusement park industry. NO one can touch the class and style of this Grand resort park. They keep re- inventing the things that should be done to keep at the top of the industries levels of grandour..Beds are where the money is. Since this place is a true resort you have to have some place to stay (in house) And the Point knows that better that any other. Not only keep them in side the Cedar Point property but Intertain them with the upmost class and style that a VACATIONER show be intertained. This reort is clean, stylish, affordable,The employess are some of the most well trained in the industry. and for me ,really closer to home. Even if it wasnt, I would so travel there and pass up the other one on the way.(if you get my drift)not ever going(there)again...In my Opinion, In the USA, next to Disney no one does it better.I applaud Ceda Point for reinventing itself over and over and staying on top.Look at the figures and the stock reports, they are always on top.....

You must not travel much. The CP hotels are mediocre at best, and the beds are ubercheap. I only like staying there for the convenience of being at the park.

What time does the water show start?

Just an observation that shows how important CP is... Cedar Fair spends almost half of the money set aside for capital expenditures on that park (even when they're not getting a new coaster). Goes to show that their Sandusky park will ALWAYS be their flagship!

I disagree. They spend the moeny where it will get them the biggest return on investment.

That's what I'm saying... the biggest return on investment is in Sandusky, hence the reason why it will be their flagship park. The park makes enough money to justify the kind of spending that makes it possible for it to maintain its status.

Yeah, I mean, Cedar Point's hotels are really nothing too spectacular. They just shove cheap stuff in them because they know people will stay there whether it's classy or not. Hence, the real idea of return on investment.
