Cedar fair acquisition of paramount parks complete.

You have a good time like I do because they have a boatload of stuff to do there. I don't see how anyone can get jaded with a park like PKI unless they go to it 50 times a year.

I have seen my fair share of rides come and go at SFGAm which has roughly the same amount of rides and attractions. Some I was bummed about but overall the park delivers and has enough to keep me coming back.

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

Right Jeff and you come here what? Two, three times a year?

After probably 150 visits in the last 8 years even a with year off it's the same ole same ole.

Im not *****ing about PKI in general, That Im bored or burnt out with it, yeah.

My three hour drives are HW, IB. Four hours to Kennywood, Camden Four hours to Geauga.

Im not being a enthusiast, I like having fun, Just last week I went to HW and we had a blast and Im only getting to like two parks this year and strickers.

Like I said, PKI is going to be a hit with someone who either hasn't been there or gets there rarely.

Chuck

Okay, so are HW, IB, KW, and Camden *better*, or would they become just as boring, too? In other words, does absence make the heart grow fonder?

My *guess*: parks that are smaller would become "boring" even that much faster, just because there's less to do. Yes, each of them may have a handful of oustanding rides---rides that may even be better than anything anywhere else. But, after a while, you'll know where all the little bumps are on those, too.

(No: I'm not saying bigger is better. I'm saying it's harder to be boring when you're bigger. "Not boring" is only a (small) part of "better".)

You know, the other thing that comes to mind:

If you are there for the rides, and the rides only, you're inevitably going to be bored once you've ridden them enough. If you are there to have fun with friends and family, well, the conversations you have with them are different every time!

(Unless the friends and family are also enthusiasts, and then you just ***** about how much worse this year's ride crews are than they were Back In The Day. ;))

I go to Cedar Point, the mother of all big corporate parks that remove rides, and I still manage to have a good time. Brian is right... if you could go to any of the other parks 150 times, would you get bored with those too?

A day at most any amusement park beats the pants off of going to work.

BINGO and removal of the flyers is just one of the things that friends and family got together for.

Like I said, You come to PKI or any park once or twice a year and it's fine, Some might say great.

I stayed away for over a year and went back for winterfest, Besides the winterfest stuff going on, (Which was well worth the visit IMHO) the park was still bland or worn out in my mind,

One reason I like IB, HW, KW, Geauga is because I haven't been there 150 times.

the flyers as a ride, EH, some days I couldn't buy a snap but I had fun with others, Heck we even would just goto the park at 5pm and ride the flyers, BS, Have fun, Catch a final beast ride and go home.

True, It alone didn't ruin the park and the park isn't ruined. as I've said, It is just one of tons of things that ive just become way to familiar with and don't get a thrill from anymore.

And really, what's wrong with that? If there comes a time when "X" park doesn't deliver the fun you could be getting somewhere else, why spend your perfectly good time and money there?

It seems like you've answered this pretty sensibly, Chuck. I mean its not as if you're going every week and still complaining about the park - I just get the sense that you would welcome a new addition that would really get you happy to come back more often. Perfectly sensible.

I can piss and moan about SFGAdv til the cows come home but my ultimate solution is just not going very often, even though I'm only a couple hours away. Its just a matter of there being better options out there.
