CCI Should redo the Coney Island Cyclone!

I wish a coaster company (hopefully CCI) would build a copy of this ride but safer as I would have loved to have riden it. Has anyone else had the same thought?

What do you mean? The Coney Island Cyclone is still operating. Do you want CCI to re-track it or something? There is no coaster in the world that needs to be re-done less....

As joey isch stated, I think S.R. meant the CB Cyclone...looking at his profile convinced me. But after taking that into account, YES, CCI should take a look at some of the other Traver classics as well!

From the way the statement is made, I think he means the Crystal Beach Cyclone. I think that would be awesome. The CI Cyclone, on the other hand, is STILL one of the greatest coasters on the planet, and is my #1 wood coaster. I have not had the luxury to ride a CCI, but I from what I know, they give a very Cyclone like ride, which means that I will love CCIs.

I think that they shouldn't make it any "safer" since the only problem was that the turns were insane! I was looking at a book with the layout in it and it just scared the hell outta me. What any coaster company that would re-create this ride should do is make cars that are soft and won't bruise your ribs. Or maybe make people pay for cushions that they can place on the sides to make a little more money. ;)

If you're talking about the Crystal Beach Cyclone, Since its kind of twisted, GCI should do it.

I agree with you ROAR. GCI are much better at twisters. That is their bread and butter. If they could get the original plans. I am sure they could pull it off perfectly, and it wouldn't even be that painful. They wouldn't need the nurse in the station. ;)

Yes, GCI are the masters of re-creating the golden era of twisted wooden track that sends riders in all directions without any warning. CCI is good at that effect though they accomplish that in their out-and-backs.

Two great coasters for GCI would be the CB Cyclone (mentioned above) AND the Cyclone that once graced Cedar Point's shore. One look at footage from CP's historic video had me hooked! I've hit Roar at SFA and Lightning Racer at Hershey...now to conquer the combination of the two at Marineworld!
