CCI coming to Wild Adventures in 2001

Posted | Contributed by RagingBull

As part of 5 year, $50 million plan, Wild Adventures has announced its new 2001 attractions. Chief among them is Cheetah, a wooden coaster from CCI. The 90-foot tall, 3000-foot long coaster will feature numerous drops and a twister finale. The coaster will be built in the new African Pridelands area, which is an expansion of the former "Jungle" area. The park will also featue three new family shows, a nightly laser/fireworks show, and expanded food services.

Wow! This parks just gets better and better! Though it would have been smarter of them to put a wood coaster in several years ago instead of now.
Does anyone know how it is coming along??? I will be passing through this spring.

A park 100 miles from my front door puts in a CCI woodie...somebody up there loves me!!! By the way, it is supposed to be operational by May. If you are into zoos and wildlife, this is a must-see park, especially for those with pre-teen kids.
Finally!!!
But as to the construction at last report nothing has been started on the ride as of about two weeks ago. Since it is a CCI expect to see its progress on there homepage. If I remember right they had the rendering up for cornball just a day after it was announced. Not that I haven't seen the rendering and what it will look like but it will be nice to see the computer rendering and how they plan to place it in the park.
The opening of it means they have a little bit more than two months to get it completed wich shouldn't be a problem considering it is steel structured.
Granted it is there first original coaster but than again not many parks can say they have gotten 4 coasters in 4 years. I hope this continues for the park they really have nice potential.

Yeah, it seems to has a good Management. In the last few years, they came every year with some new attractions. Ant they continue. Look out for a new water ride in 2002.

Sweet! Way to go WA! I just might have to head down that way this Summer. I can't think of anything better than seeing Collective Soul play in their home state and riding a brand spanking new CCI!
At last, one more wooden coaster for the states in 2001.
Check out CCI's website for the rendering and a look at what the finished product will look like.
