CB event at SFGAm?

There's still a good chance that we could do an event at SFGAm, but I have to ask, when is a good time? Spring seems entirely too crowded with events, and I know we certainly wouldn't want to do one in July or August. What do you think?

Late September just prior to PPP sounds good to me. I can make a trip out of it! :)

I'm not sure about a good time. May could be good. Seems like most events I've seen publicized are June, but May weather is a bit less predictable. Maybe the weekend before memorial day? Late September would also be good.

In any event, I'd plan to attend if my schedule worked out. I was all geeked for BeastBuzz until I realized that it's the same weekend as an every-other-year family reunion. I have no interest in CoasterCon, and almost none in CoasterMania. That pretty much just leaves timbersfest (which could still happen) and any other midwesternish cbuzz events.

Yeah, I am planning a trip to SFGAM sometime anyway. An event would ice it with the wife though :). September or even October would be good.

No edits. changed my mind on making comment about reunion. *** Edited 2/15/2004 3:48:44 AM UTC by DragonRider***

Damnit Jeff!!! You are playing around with my daughter's emotions. :)

She got spoiled by the ERT on Superman last year and she keeps asking when we are going to do it again. I keep telling her it won't happen again at our park.

NOW!! Out of nowhere, you post this. :)

Bottomline: May, beginning of June, or September. I wouldn't touch any other time during the season.

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

Well anytime is good for me... ;) heh

yeah it would cool to go to another event at SFGAm. at the last one i got my sister addicted to coasters, (as long as i am paying), anywho the best specific weekend for me is 22 and 23 of May. this time i hope that Deja Vu is open. i have seen all 3 Vu's but not ridden any of them. hopefuly that will change this year. *** Edited 2/15/2004 8:30:33 PM UTC by fearless ben***

Are there any other parks besides SFGAm and PKI that will allow CB to have events? I think both are great, big, and close to home for many Buzzers and should be visited like this, but is there even a possibility to do something at Dollywood, Hershey, BGW, even SFDL? There has to be a lot of people in the east that can go and I know the parks have to accept, but yea. That's my question.

I would love to take a trip to Dollywood this year... it is very far though. Definitely hitting Hershey. How bout Kennywood Jeff?

Understand that there are several factors in having events. The first is the parks wanting to do it. These two parks have bent over backwards to do it. Second, putting on an event, dealing with the registrations, tickets and cash is a lot more work than you might think. Spring is especially tough considering I'm coaching at the same time (in fact I couldn't go to the SFGAm event last year for that reason). Third, believe me when I say I've approached a lot of parks and had little to no interest from some, especially those that already have events. I had one offer from a west coast park in fact, but it was really just an invite to an existing event. Not really much point in that since we were already invited!

Next year maybe we'll have three or four I hope. We'll see.

Ahhh, all good reasons and I figured some of it had to do with your availability to attend as well. As long as SFGAm and PKI are offering, I wouldn't pass up the chance either. Hopefully PKI will continue BeastBuzz for as long as the CoasterBuzz Club continues and maybe you can figure out something with SFGAm if they would be up to a yearly thing. Would the event at SFGAm be the official "CBCon" of the year again if everything falls into place? I've heard exceptional reports from everything involving the PKI event, so I wouldn't be surprised if they passed on the compliments on how well-behaved the Buzzers were to the other Paramount Parks. I would be proud to have two of the best parks anywhere in the CB event line-up.

That said, September sounds like a great month to me.

I like the weekend of May 15th, that is when I was planning my trip to Chicago to go to Six Flags, that would be perfect.

June or July, when I visit family...
The best time for events is either May or June and September. I wouldn't make the event in early May though, becasue the new Mardi Gras section won't be open yet. So I would go with late May early June or September if you want to ride Rajin Cajun.
so, Jeff, with this many responses in such little time, when will we know for sure if this is going to happen, much less when. *** Edited 2/16/2004 3:41:59 AM UTC by fearless ben***

I think May or Sept may be the bet here. Those times are less crowded and more comfortable weather wise. Heck, just pick a weekend and I'll probably be there :)

Well Jeff just set a date and let me know enough in advance and I WILL be there! YAY!
