Castles ~N~ Coasters - Feb 16, 2002

Associated parks:
None

Ok, day started out fine, thought I would head out to CnC for a bit of coaster riding since I hadnt been there in a while...
Well, i got to the park at around 11, and had to wait an hour for the rides to open (stupid website was wrong!) at 12.
First ride of the day was Desert Storm (went on it maybe 15x), boy was i surprised.  I hadnt been on it for maybe 2yrs (sad thing is i live 15 miles away), and I didnt remember what to expect.  well, got in, went through the circuit, came back totally bashed out of my mind. This is most definately the roughest coaster I have ever been on.  The 1st loop had a hard jerk at the top.  The 2nd hill, right when it starts to go flat theres a big bump, 2nd loop, DONT EVEN get me started on that thing, it slams you around VERY hard.  Right out of the 2nd loop it turns very sharply causing you to yet again get thrown around, then its a nice little turn till you get smacked by a palm tree and a rough transition into the 2nd helix.  After that, brakes.  Very short, VERY rough, but still fun in the sense that you laugh at your friends because of the pain.  A suggestion, KEEP AWAY FROM THE BACK SEAT!  On the first drop in the very back there is a HUGE HUGE HUGE slam to the right that hurts pretty bad, I found the best seat on that thing was 3b, or car three, row two.
2nd ride of the day was Sea Dragon (went on that maybe 30x), or as i call it, "Swingamajig".  Very fun in the back, GREAT airtime.  But on my maybe 20th ride on that these two little 12yr old girls in front of me were standing up and saying me and my friend should join.  Being the person that i am i totally went off on them about how its people like them that makes amusement parks have a bad name.  Then they started to stalk us and we finally told them off on our way out of the station of Desert Storm, good times...
Next was magic carpet, oh how i love that one.  good air and its fun getting smashed by your friends, good stuff.
Patriot- I didnt ride it this time but as I remember it from the MANY times i had ridden it before, its a quite fun family coaster, very vibratic, but still fun.
Splashdown- whoa, this one has a very intense drop, great log flume.

Basically thats all thats there.  Its a good park but it really needs more rides, i say they take out the bumper cars or maybe even relocate sea dragon and put a Boomerang model or something, ANYTHING would be great.

Overall, i'd give the park a 6, i mean, it did entertain me for 7hrs, gotta give them credit for that...

"ok everyone go ahead and pull down on your shoulder restraint so you feel nice and stuck!"

If Desert Storm had OTSRs it would be deadly...

But with only lap bars, it isn't that rough! I found it quite fun.

"Go banana!"-Ralph

yeah its pretty rough, its not like woody rough, its just it doesnt have the best transtitions and it does throw your upperbody and neck around a bit more then it should.  its still fun tho, just a tad bit painful...
yes, the log flume is quite impressive, but could use some theming.

I've traded in my 2000 Giovanola for a 2002 Arrow X4D :)
My other car is now an Arrow X4D!
