Castle Amusement Park, Riverside, California, USA
First a little background. I have sent payment and will be in CoasterBuzz Club soon. So in the process of trying to remember all the coasters I have been on to create my track record, I remembered that I went to Castle Park sometime in the mid to late 80's, close to when I lived in Corona, CA. While trying to figure out what coaster would have been there at the time, I ended up checking their website.
I found out that the park has really grown and they have 1/2 price ($12.99) unlimited ride wristbands this weekend. Since it supposed to rain here this Sunday and Monday, I decided to go today. So it was my first time there in roughly 20-25 years. I only stayed 3 hrs, but in a tiny park like this with no lines, that was plenty.
There isn't much need for a detailed list of what I did in order this time. Basically, I went on the 2 main coasters (Merlin's Revenge and Screamin' Demon) 3 times each, and the kiddie coaster (Little Dipper) once. Yes, I even went on the kiddie coaster. I haven't been there in a long time and may not be back for a long time, so I wanted to go on it one time. I also went on Dragon's Tower (good air time on the drops) 3 times and most of the flats 1-2 times each.
The most interesting thing that happened was on MR and LD, they let the train go thru the station without stopping, and let it run again. I don't know if this is what they always do, but it was pretty cool. It helped make up for the fact that the coaster is pretty short. On MR they let it run twice and on LD they let it run 5 times without stopping. And as an added bonus, I have a few more coasters for my track record.
My mother (1946-2009) once asked me why I go to Magic Mountain so much. I said I feel the most alive when I'm on a roller coaster.
