Carowinds rides are so short(except hurler and top

why are all of Carowinds rides so short? Vortex would be so much better if there were more inversions and track. The Carolina Cyclone would also be a cool coaster if it had just been built longer in the first place.

Yes Its True
Top Gun Is Short To!
They Still are good rides though.

Carowinds doesn't need a Wild Mouse, they need a good ol' Intamin Hypercoaster...

Well now. Top Gun isn't the longest inverted coaster (its the best though :P) but it is by no means a short ride. Hurler isn't too incredibly short and Thunder Road is a very long woodie. The Goldrusher is a pretty long mine train as well. When the Carolina Cyclone opened it was the first coaster to go upside down 4 times and when Vortex opened it was very advanced. And about the hypercoaster, keep your fingers crossed for 2002 ;)

Is it just me, or do all Paramount parks (save the Beast at PKI:)) have short coasters? It just seems unique to Paramount parks.

Top Gun is short but it is just shy of 3000 feet. When did paramount buy Carrowinds? Was the Carolina Cyclone there before? I know they used to have white lightning, so did the cyclone replace it?
i think they need a hyper coaster too. the South is greatly deprived of Hypercoasters and if Carowinds got one i think it could boost attendance

In the early 90's. 1992 or 1993 I believe.

"Was the Carolina Cyclone there before?"

Yep. It opened in 1979 I think.

"I know they used to have white lightning, so did the cyclone replace it?"

White Lightning was replaced with the Rip Tide Reef waterpark before Paramount bought the park. After Paramount bought it, they renamed the waterpark Water Works. For the record White Lightning now resides at Gold Reef City in South Africa.

What is life without ups and downs!?!?

1.Fire Dragon, 2.Ice Dragon, 3.Raptor, 4.Kraken, 5.Batman Knight Flight
:( Poor white lightnin'. That was a great ride (and short!) that would still compliment their current lineup. White Lightnin was beautiful at night. The Pirate Island area of the park was really nice, with all the water surrounding it. Its sad it gave way to a cheesy water park that should be adjacent to the park, not in the middle.
Coastercraver, Son of Beast is another long coaster located at Paramount`s Kings Island and is the second longest wooden coaster next to The Beast.
