The former Stealth flying coaster began to thrill guests this weekend in the Carolinas at Paramount's Carowinds. The ride was relocated from Paramount's Great America in California.

Not a bad review....man it makes me almost desperate to get some flight time in on Batwing but I've still gotta wait 13 days before my first trip of the season.

"Hard-core coaster fanatics may wish it was faster or longer."

Translation: "Some enthusiasts will whine about this coaster."

So long Stealth...may you live long and prosper in the Carolinas ;)

Hey, I rode BORG yesterday and it has gotten smooth and I was surprised a Vekoma could get that smooth. They put a lot of trees around it enhncing it. A top coaster in my book (the first Vekoma I actually like.)
hey, Face'Off ain't bad!
I went both the first day and the second. I got stuck on the lift hill and had to unload on the first day so i did not get to ride it. The second day i did though and i can tell you now that the loop is the best the corkscrews are the best ive ever been in.
The theming and trees really add to this coaster with a similar color scheme of that of X-Flight. Too bad XF is a parking lot coaster. I think it looks like it fits in there nice. I'd love to try the corks on the flying coaster. Looks pretty sweet.
The invertigo's aren't bad it's the SLC's that really hurt.

X-Flight's color is a bit brighter than Borg...the colors used on Borg are more like those on PR with the nice soft green that doesn't blind you when you look at it,from what I've seen Carowinds wwent all out with the theming & landscaping of the ride & SF should be taking notes on this one.

Hmm, is this the first time a coaster has been themed after the Star Trek franchise?

Yes.
One thing i can say about carowinds is that they arent slack on landscaping. What make the coaster look so astonishing is the fact that the park added some very lush and inviting landscaping around the coaster. They even went as far as planting a slanting tree behind the sphere to make it seem as if it fell down during the crash. What makes carowinds coaster stand out from most parks is the fact that a large precent of their coasters are walk thru coasters. That factor alone adds to the thrill factor of any coaster, even reptar!!

Personally i feel that Carowinds doesnt have rides they have "experiences". Every time i ride top gun its never the same ride. That coaster makes me feel as if im atually strapped to the wing if a fighterjet and actually taking flight. From the ducking in and out of subterrain tunnels and mist filled ones (which to this day is a feature still operational) the whole ride is just one adventure that always changes.

Yo i rode the borg assimilator on sunday, after a couple hours of breakdowns we were the first in line, and it was sweet when it turned upside down and we went down the hill, i was gripping the hand harnesses the whole time.
After seeing photos of Borg Assimilator, all I can say is I'm really liking it's location. Much better compared to it's location at PGA.

The more I look at it though, the more I miss the former Stealth. You guys at Paramount's Carowinds just got a good ride. Enjoy it!

There was a photo shoot at the park today. I was there and after 16 rides i could not be more happy then to lay down on a comfortable bed. My neck is hurting as i am typeing this and has been for the last couple hours. The ride is smooth it was just after a while it does get a little ruff. I will be ready to go again this weekend. And every time after that.
im goin again this weekend itll be fun again i just hope it doesnt brake down, but i wouldnt care cause i got a season pass
Actualy they are not haveing as many problems out of it as they did openin day. It blow a fuse on the day of the shoot. It was not anything major though. From what thay have told me they are going to try to have 2 trains runing this weekend.
I'm excited that Stealth/Borg Assimilation has come to NC/SC. This will be a totally new experience for me.... that I have already "flown" on "out new" coaster... but not since it has arrived in the Carolinas! I rode it 3 time in a row at PGA during Coasterpolooza 2 years ago. My pitiful tummy couldn't take any more rides that day, so I took pictures while my bf and new-found CA friends rode it 3 more times.

I wish I could speak for the rest of NC (and SC) in saying that "We'll be sure to take good care of Stealth." (but I think/hope that we will!!) :)

I have rode on this ride a few times with my girlfriend and we both love it. It is off the heezy fo sheezy. I think its the new best ride there, although top gun is comparable. It is just so unique and I have never rode anything like it until a few weeks ago. Older coasters just dont do it for you after you ride something so thrilling.... YOU REALLY FEEL LIKE YOU'RE FLYING!!
