Carowinds posted this point-of-view video of Fury 325, it's new roller coaster for 2015.
So this Paul Reuben guy is obviously like ever other salesman/promoter out there. Makes a 97 sunfire seem like a racing car. Well Paul Reuben can say whatever he wants, this ride is gonna take the cake.
The beauty of this ride to me is that it's proving a park can have two similair rides from the same manufacturer yet offer completely different experiences and thrills. I.E. a hyper and a giga from B&M.
I would not complain at all if a park like CP put in a B&M giga with a traditional out and back layout, or even a hyper. Who cares that they have Magnum and MF. The B&M ride, while similair would offer a completely different ride experience.
Looking forward to my first Carowinds trip and getting to hit the pass holder preview night!

I guess that's becoming such ancient history that people don't recognize it anymore.
I've never felt older than reading through this and seeing how many people have no idea who he is. I've been in this game WAY too long.
With that said, we all knew not to take the guy seriously, but there's a reason he was on every coaster show in the late 90's/early 00's - he gave the soundbites the media wanted.
he was a joke and I don't think his magazine even existed, but he was the go to guy when you needed an 'expert' opinion on how great your ride was.
In that sense, kudos to him for whoring it up like a champ.
(For the record, I'm more than willing to do the same thing. Any park rep reading this can feel free to contact me for a "This is the world's best coaster" quote. I have no shame.)
Not as ancient as I do, I met him for the first time at an Amusement Park Club International con at Kennywood in 1982.........
If it's any consolation, I thought Jeff was making a Pee Wee Herman joke that I wasn't understanding.
:)
I'm not young, I just haven't been "here" as long as the lot of you.
The POV appears to go faster than the animation, which I point out only because often it's the other way around.
And this was for just the first test run...in March weather.
Also, be sure to remember the ride will most likely change speed before anyone gets on it... Due to the cold, I am sure they ran those trains with a large amount of nylon wheels for maximum speed to reduce risk of valleying.
Once they run it more and weather warms up, the park will likely use more urethane wheels to slow it down a bit to "tune" the ride to it's designed speeds. So it may slow down a bit before opening day... Hopefully not though, looks fantastic!

Let's predict what CF park will be next to order (or has already ordered) one of these ultra-thrilling, über-successful coasters.
I say Kings Island. (please...)
Giga. Giga. Giga. Giga. ___ ;) It's only a matter of time for KI. They just filled the more essential hole first with Banshee, and I'm glad they did.
Somehow I envision a ride like this at KI starting in the back of the park between Racer's turnaround (the abandoned theater area as the station) then using the terrain to the north side of the park taking the ride all the way to the front between the Bat and Great Wolf Lodge. That placement won't provide many spectator moments, though, and I haven't planned for a leap across or a dive under the front gate....
Jeff- I was going along with what you were saying, I got the joke. I was just showing how much of a media whore (credit Gonch on that term) he is with the Mind Eraser story...
Gonch- I had the same getting old feeling. I've been mostly lurking here for 12 years and just recently really started participating...
But then again, what do I know?
Sidebar: Mac, is it fair to describe the theater as "abandoned"? If homeless enthusiasts have started squatting in the structure, I know where I'll be spending the summer...

Paul Reuben, i still like his use of fruits on coaster rides.
