800,000 years in 7 seconds: Time Machine the movie or next S&S creation?

Hyper, shmyper...looks like they'd much rather do something successful that will bring in crowds and profits just like it did @ PKI.

Did you say the same thing about PKI in 2001? ;)

Alright....hopefully this time Paramount will see fit to make Reptar capable of handling TWO trains....nah, that's just too much to hope for.....I loved our ride on WTRA at PKI, and think this'll be a hit....(hope they have the elephant like PKI's too).....:)

bill, "big kid", RGW, Gator....lovin' the kiddie rides

Well it's about time the Carowinds joined the others by adding a nickelodeon themed area.

It looks as if they'll recieve a nice package of rides & attractions which will keep families & the little ones nicely entertained & coming back for more,as much as we'd like to se big thrill rides at the parks we all know that they must also be able to cater to other age groups and interests.

Now we know that at least 3 paramount parks are getting new rides,PKD-gyro drop,PKI- scooby doo dark ride,Carowinds - new themed section, now all that remains is to see just what PGA & PCW will be adding in 03.

It looks like a fun & interesting 2003 season for paramount parks. =)

PGA's announcement is in about 2 weeks. It's on par with this one, with a few "surprises". I'm always happy to hear a new family coaster announced. Small enthusiatsts DO count you know. It's not just smelly teenagers and 5,000ft tall rollercoasters that bring in revenue.

Actually, Paramount`s Kings Island isn`t done with their anouncements yet as they still have yet to anounce what is replacing King Cobra`s site next year.

This is Very sad. From what the article says, the park must apparently be loosing the Old World Marketplace/Queens Colony area.

Hopefully this won't mean the removal of the Carolina Stearnwheeler.

Paramount is ruining the purpose of this park.

The Sternwheeler is toast from what I have been told. Actually Nick will be good for the park. It did gangbusters for PKI. That area seemed void of substantial "attractions."

It will be odd to have the Nick themed Saturator on the opposite side of the park though.... Unless they are planning a cut through.... hmmmmm... could the defunct Smurf Forest be useful at long last?????

Don't lament the death of older aged attractions too much. I was sick on my stomach when PKI closed the KMLF for a season. But when Nick Central opened my opinion completely changed.... it really added some much needed chutzpah to a formerly wasted area. Out with the old, in with the new.

A keen eye watching Paramount Parks would notice a trend...... Re-theming areas, and family attractions are now the focus. Those awaiting hyper, giga, twister, looping, inverting 500 foot supercoasters at Paramount Parks only stand to grow more and more impatient. Big rides (coasters) are not their primary interest any longer.

Well, its sad that the Riverboat will be gone. I think its one of Carowinds's "Magical" Attractions. But, Its not open very much and does not have a high ridership, so I guess its an obvious choice. I'm surprised it lasted this long anyway.

However, it will open up the Smurf Island section. They might evan fill up the entire River, which would mean lots of room.

Shaggy you are so right, but they need to add a big rollercoaster eventually. PKI got SOB in 2000, I am plenty happy, but I'm gunna want one in 04

Well there is "one" fairly large ride coming to one Paramount Park.
